1 owner. I've owned this Camaro for close to 4 years now and it's been great to me the entire time. I'm selling the car because I just finished school and I need the money to help with living expenses :/

More about the car...

It's a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro LS that I got brand new in May 2010. It has the 312HP LLT V6 engine w/ 6-speed Manual transmission. Black exterior/black interior/black 18" Heritage wheels. The hood and trunk originally had red rally stripes on them but I've put black vinyl stripes on top.

The Good:

Everything on this car works. AC, power windows, locks, radio, MP3 input, OnStar, all electronics, etc. The Camaro has a 4-Star front crash rating. 5-Star side crash rating. And a 5-Star rollover resistance rating. Does 19 MPG City & 29 MPG Highway on 87 Regular (no unnecessary 93 Premium prices!). The engine recently got completely replaced under warranty and has less than 2k miles on it and it has been running perfectly since the install. Also has a brand new clutch & flywheel rated for 400+ HP since I was planning on doing a turbo build but didn't go through with it. There is still 50,000+ miles left in the GM 100k Extended Warranty (I've used less than half), so if anything on the car gives you any issues you're completely covered! The interior was just completely steam-cleaned, shampooed, & detailed. The next major service is in 7,000 miles when the odometer hits 50k. The current tires will definitely last a few thousand miles past that. Probably needs an oil change in 2-3000 miles after you get it. Runs on Mobil 1 Synthetic.

The Bad:

1. The paint isn't perfect. But then again show me a black car that's been daily driven for 4 years that has perfect paint. It has a few light scratches and other imperfections but after talking to my detailer, he believes they can come out with a rotary buffer which I think you could DIY or take to a detail place. 2. Not immune to the 1st gear refusal. If you have not heard of this let me explain: On 95% of V6 Manual 5th generation Camaros and some Corvettes there is a known "issue" from the factory. What happens is that when you are stopped and in neutral, you go to put the shifter into first gear, however sometimes you will notice the shifter won't let you slide into first or only lets you halfway in. The cause of this issue hasn't been pinpointed in the 4 years that the Camaro has been out. The fix that GM released in a Technical Service Bulletin was to put it back into neutral, pump the clutch once and put it into first. This has worked for me every time I've had to do this. I've heard of some people getting a new transmission under warranty because of this "problem". It never bothered me enough in my 4 years to get it replaced, but if you feel the need, you're covered under GM warranty. 3. There is a small crack in the windshield (smaller than a dollar bill) shown in the picture, but I've gotten it sealed with resin by SafeLite so it just looks like a spider web crack now.

The Indifferent:

One thing that I changed with this car is the front bumper. I swapped out the V6 bumper for the V8 Super Sport bumper which has the mailslot on top and has the lower "chin spoiler" which I think gives the car a more aggressive look. This is strictly a cosmetic modification. I installed a Barton Pistol Grip Short Throw Shifter which lets you row through the gears faster and in my opinion makes the car more fun to drive. I used to have the 20" 5-spoke Super Sport wheels but I have since sold those. If you really fancy those wheels, I got my set for $300 on the Camaro5 Marketplace. They trend around $500 but if you monitor it you can get lucky & find a set for pretty cheap. I know they really change the look of the car and make it look $5,000 more expensive but in reality the wheels are only worth about $500. Browse here.

I've loved this car every mile I've driven it and I know she's got plenty more miles of fun in her. She still turns heads of on-lookers & entices street racers every time I take her out for a drive even 4 years after being out! It's a great car and I'm pricing it to be sold asap just because I need to pay for a place to stay. I'm open to offers and negotiations. Thanks for looking and feel free to message me with any questions you have.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
