You are looking at a VERY well maintained 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche - LTZ - 4X4.  This vehicle has been taken care of and is in great mechanical condition.

Exterior:
I would rate the exterior at an 8/10.  As is typical on Avalanches, the black plastic over the bed has faded.  I keep it black by using a custom armorall type liquid that lasts 4-6 months.  There are some chips on the hood but nothing major.  There are no dents or dings and the truck has never been in an accident.

Interior:
As you can see in the pictures, the interior is nearly perfect.  I would give it a 9/10.  The leather and carpet are all in fantastic shape.  The only thing wrong with the interior is the lid for the small tray ash tray in the console is broken at the hinge.  When closed, you cannot tell.  It can be purchased on ebay for about $75.

Mechanical:
The truck is in great working condition.  The engine, transmission, and suspension all perform well.  The oil is changed per the trucks clock every time with Mobile One.  The rear differential is brand new.  One injector has been replaced.  The autoride still works great.

Options:
Basically this truck has everything.  Here are some highlights:
  • Brand new Nitto Grappler tires with less than 1,000 miles
  • Autoride suspension
  • Power folding steps
  • Navigation
  • Rear entertainment/DVD
  • 4X4
  • LTZ package
  • Power everything
  • Power moon roof
  • All bed cover panels in good condition
  • Towing package
  • Weathertech floor mats
  • The list goes on

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
