2004 Chevy Avalanche 1500 4X4.  Gray on Gray with the lower body cladding.  Has all three bed panels and they seal very good.  I currently drive this everyday and store all my baseball game supplies in the back and it's always dry even after a heavy rain.  The panels have faded since being in the sun the last 2 years.  This was garaged all the time up until the last couple of years.  Starts and drives awesome.  This is a very smooth running 5.3 v8 and the trans shifts the way chevy built it too.  4wd works good.  I've used it a couple of times last winter when it snowed but other than that I don't go "4wheelin or mud slinging" so...  I installed new shocks earlier this year "KYB mono max" and the brakes where over 1/2 left and still original.  The original owner put mostly "80%" highway miles on this so the brakes have lasted a very long time.  Tires where new last summer and still have 3/4 tread left on them.  It's a fairly agressive tire but not overly noisy.  Should have around 30-40 thousand miles left in them depending on how you drive.  Engine was tuned up last summer also and the transfer case had it's fluid changed.  Chevy uses a different fluid in the auto shift transfer cases that requires it be changed every 50,000 miles and it was due when I got the truck.  Oil changes every 3-4,000 miles (I'm being honest I don't always get it exactly at 3,000 miles. But I don't go over 4)  New belts when I tuned it up.  Gates Green strip belts (100,000 mile belts)

A/c is very cold and gets there pretty quickly.  For a large interior it isn't hard to cool it off.  Heater is also very warm.  will make you sweat if you want.  Seats and really all the interior is very very nice.  Front driver's seat has a small light spot on it (it was there when I bought it)  and as you can see by the pictures it looks really good.  Window's work fine and all the functions (seats, dash, climate control, mirror, lights) work as they should.
The Alpine stereo in the dash DOESN'T  come with the truck.  I've since sold it and reinstalled the factory AM/FM/CD in  it's place.  You WILL get the Alpine Type-S component speakers I installed in the front doors.

Truck gets around 18-24 mpg on the highway depending on how you drive.  I've gotten as good as 22 but the last owner said he could get 24 if he kept it around 65mph.  I've usually running enough behind I can't go that slow.

the bad...... the left rear bumer corner has a scuff in it.  It was there when I bought the truck and it isn't very deep and honestly never really bothered me and if you don't look at it, it almost blends in.  You can see it in the pictures.  Also the hood has a small dent in the lower front right hand corner.  A tree branch fell out of my tree and put that one there a couple of weeks ago.  (I wasn't happy)

I do still have the bag that the rear panels fit into and the rear window and mid gate system works great.  I've only had it out once and it works awesome.

If you have any questions PLEASE PLEASE EMAIL ME.....ALWAYS ASK FIRST OR CALL ME PLEASE.  I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY WITH YOUR PURCHASE.

You can call me about the truck after 6pm weekdays or anytime after noon weekends.

I need money for this truck so please don't mess me around.  I can't afford it.

So please email me or call me with any questions you might have.  Deposit is due within 24 hours No exceptions.

Thanks

Lee

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
