Washington, New Jersey, United States
1976 f250. Highboy, which means it has a divorced transfer case and three driveshafts. 460 engine, bored 30 over, mild cam. C6 auto matic. Both engine and trans have about 10,000 miles on them. Truck runs and moves. Truck as been parked for a few years. I was going to restore it but have no time for it. The engine and trans were the only things I got done then had no more time for it. The cab and bed should be replaced due to rust. Fenders, doors, hood, tailgate and bumpers are all in good condition. Since the truck was parked for awhile you will need to go over it, which means cleaning up the brakes and carb rebuild and so on. Tires have cracks. This would be a great project for somebody.I use to drive this as my daily drivera few years back. Any questions please ask
THIS TRUCK IS LISTED LOCALLY AND I WILL END THE AUCTION EARLY IF IT IS SOLD LOCALLY.
WINNING BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE TO PICK TRUCK
TRUCK MEASURES ABOUT 83 INCHES WIDE FROM OUTSIDE SIDEWALL TO OUTSIDE SIDEWALL OF TIRES, SO IF YOU PICK THIS UP WITH A TRAILER, YOUR DECK HAS TO BE ATLEAST 83 INCHES BETWEEN YOUR FENDERS.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
