Take a look at this gorgeous Medium Sapphire metallic Brougham! This car is an original Florida car and is rust free! Everything works on this car, and it drives and rides like a dream. It has had one repaint in the original color. The interior is extremely nice. The car runs quiet, shifts great, brakes are excellent, tires are like new matching Hankook white walls, the car is very clean and has not been smoked in. Automatic temperature set works great and the A/C is ice cold. It has also been converted to 134-A. It has a fantastic Pioneer CD player in it, and the speakers have been updated, it sounds wonderful. I got this beautiful car from a gentleman who owned it since 2008 and took very good care of it. It has the venerable Oldsmobile 307 with 4bbl carb. The car actually looks better in person than in the pics. I do want to list a few things that you need to be aware of however. There is one crack in the dash pad, (towards the middle), a very little bit of wear to the seating area of just the passenger side seat, (can be dyed, it;s not cracked), passenger side sun visor does not stay folded up,  one mark in the vinyl top and some shrinkage on the driver's side C pillar, the rest of it looks fine, a ding in the trim on the lower driver's side rear quarter panel, passenger side front bumper filler is cracked and peeling, (other side is fine), passenger side rear quarter filler had a problem with the paint adhering to it, and needs to be stripped and re-sprayed, (other side is fine). Upon a warm startup, the car will emit a puff of smoke, but nothing out of the ordinary. May need valve seals soon.

Cadillac ATS was almost front-wheel drive

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

"We were going to do a front-wheel drive Cadillac compact off of Delta because it was going to be less expensive," Doug Parks, General Motors' vice president of global product programs, told the Automotive News during the Detroit Auto Show in January of this year. That sentence, referring to early ATS discussions more than five years ago - a period when the automaker, and the industry, was struggling - reveals that Cadillac's highly acclaimed rear-wheel drive compact sedan almost never happened.
Parks revealed that that automaker actually built a 2.0-liter test mule, on GM's Delta platform (shared with the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Verano) and tested it in Europe. While the prototype was "pretty darn good," according to Parks, the team realized that in order to compete against Mercedes-Benz and BMW it would have to invest in a new rear-wheel drive platform.
The resulting all-new Alpha platform would eventually underpin the Cadillac ATS, and many would argue that its balanced rear-wheel drive chassis is its single most important attribute. Thankfully, the Alpha's goodness won't stop with the ATS. The upcoming 2014 Cadillac CTS and the future Camaro will also share its architecture, meaning the Cimarron will remain a distant memory.

Five awesome Lego car creations

Thu, 23 Oct 2014

Lego cars are among our favorite toys. They're fun for play, and if built properly, great to display. With that in mind, we've crafted a list of some of the best creations we've seen. Some are on sale now, while others are merely the work of fanciful enthusiasts. There are even a couple that you definitely cannot buy (we'll explain).
Our choices are diverse, including everything from a diminutive 1969 Chevy Corvette to a fullsize Ferrari Formula One racecar. These are just five projects that caught our eye - there are many more out there - so if you don't see your favorite Lego car on the list (or if you have your own creation), please tell us about it, in Comments.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
