Bought the car at the end of last summer with 117 k on it, was garaged until then. Since then I put New Tires Continental DWSs $1200 New Front Brakes last week, rears are 80% $300 New Optima battery, red top $225 New SKF "X tracker" hub bearings, these are the bearings used by the V series race team $500 Mobil 1 Oil change with Mobil 1 filter, 9 quarts I have the 08+ "shark fin" antenna, but not installed $200 There is a small chip on the hood by the wiper arm where the arm was up and the hood was opened and with the cowl hood it chipped. This car has never been hit, it also doesn't have the front plate mount, it is unmodified with all the engine covers (which is rare). It had the rear diff seal recall done by the last owner. I've had many people over the last few weeks call me and email me about the car. Please don't send me pics of base model CTS's comparing their prices to my car. This is a RWD V series (they all are), yes it has a sunroof (they all do), it has the suede insert seats (they all do), it has 17" front and 18" rear tires (they all do). Getting tired of people calling me with NO IDEA what the STS V is If you'd like more pics I can text them or email them. The reason for selling the car is I want to get back into a truck like a Super Duty 08+ extended cab or 4 door 6' bed. GM delivers best Q3 sales since 1980, 2.4M vehicles sold

Even after registering over 70 recalls through the first three-quarters of 2014, General Motors saw its best Q3 results since Jimmy Carter was in the White House, registering over 2.4 million global sales between June and September on the back of strong results in the US and China.
US sales were marshaled by good results for GM's pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, which bumped the manufacturer's truck market share to 35.6 percent, up nearly three points from Q1 2014. Buick has seen healthy growth as well, with the Encore dominating its segment for the sixth month running.
It was China, though, that really bolstered GM's sales, as the company's efforts to top last year's record-setting 3.16 million units continued apace. Small SUV sales saw massive growth, with Encore, Chevrolet Trax and Captiva figures jumping 90 percent in Q3. Brand-wise, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick all saw sales gains in the PRC, with each recording double-digit year-over-year jumps. Cadillac sales alone were up 63 percent compared to the first nine months of 2013.
GM considering new powertrain options for large SUVs
Tue, 15 Oct 2013Aside from the new General Motors offerings, there's not a whole lot of action going on in the fullsize SUV segment. That doesn't seem to be stopping GM from pushing the envelope in the market as Automotive News is reporting that the automaker is looking to introduce some new powertrain options into the Chevy Tahoe (and Suburban), GMC Yukon (and Yukon XL) and the Cadillac Escalade - all have been redesigned for the 2015 model year.
Now, we already know that GM and Ford are collaborating on nine- and ten-speed transmissions for a broad range of applications (including the big SUVs), but this new report says that GM is also considering other options as a way to one-up the competition and, of course, to optimize fuel economy. AN quotes Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for GM trucks, as saying that "interesting powertrain technologies" are coming including a return of a hybrid SUV and possibly even a diesel engine. Although it sounds like the latter could come down to how customers respond to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.
GM announces 6 recalls covering nearly 720k cars
Wed, 23 Jul 2014General Motors has announced yet another sprawling recall campaign, with six separate elements covering 717,950 vehicles on US roads. At this point in 2014, it's starting to seem like there are more days with a GM recall than without. Perhaps most troubling about this latest volley, though, is that every vehicle is from the past few years, indicating that GM's quality woes may not be limited to pre-bankruptcy vehicles.
The largest element of this latest campaign covers 414,333 units, and includes the 2011 to 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 to 2012 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain and Cadillac SRX and the 2011 to 2012 Buick Regal and LaCrosse. Only vehicles with powered, height-adjustable seats are covered. In these particular cars and crossovers, the bolt that secures the height adjuster actuator may loosen of its own accord and in some cases fall out completely. If this happens, the seats will be able to move both up and down. GM claims the vehicles are safe to drive, provided drivers don't vertically adjust their seats. This particular issue has caused one crash and three injuries.
