This car was originally bought new by a local lady who passed away last year and I bought it from her son and only has 62,995 miles. The car has been very well maintained and just got an oil change, air filter, wiper blades, and had the injectors cleaned. The only issue the car had when I got it was that the back rear window had a broken part in the regulator, so I ordered a new regulator/window motor from Cadillac and has a local glass shop install it professionally, it works great. I have the receipts for all the recent maintainence and the receipt for the new window regulator/motor and installation. The car is dark cherry metallic with a tan top and a tan interior, beautiful color combination. The car is in excellent shape and has never been in an accident. The original spare looks new and hs never touched the ground. The only blemishes on the car are: 1. A wear spot on the driver's seat from the prior owner getting in and out, 2. A wear spot on the center pillar material also from her getting out, 3. A small dent on the front bumper (shown in pics, only on chrome), 4. Needs tires, the tires look to be the original ones, as these are the tires that the Cadillacs came with. You can check out the value on kbb or nada and you will see that I have priced the car very fair to allow more than enough to get a very nice set of tires. South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
Cadillac Elmiraj has production potential
Tue, 20 Aug 2013There are many reasons to love the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept, but not the least of which is how production-ready this big coupe appears to be. Take out the overly fancy interior and a few conceptual elements of the exterior, and this looks like a coupe that could be in dealers now as the successor to the Eldorado.
On top of that, Automotive News is quoting Bob Ferguson, Cadillac senior vice president, as saying that a production version of this car is "very doable." AN adds that if the Monterey showstopper gets the green-light, this car would compete against the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and would based on Cadillac's upcoming rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan due out in 2015. The range-topping coupe would debut sometime after the sedan model. Cross your fingers.
Cadillac toned down ATS Coupe design due to customer feedback [w/poll]
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Automakers always face a difficult decision when it comes to styling their cars. Design them too blandly and nobody will get excited about them. But style them too aggressively and they'll often end up turning off potential buyers.
Cadillac, for its part, is no stranger to aggressive design, but when it came to the new ATS Coupe, it elected to tone things down a bit. Speaking with The Detroit News in a wide-ranging interview, Cadillac design director Bob Boniface revealed that the original design for its compact coupe was edgier - closer to that of the CTS Coupe - with a wedgier profile, a more steeply raked beltline and a more severe grille. But potential customers surveyed in clinics apparently didn't like it. They found it looked heavy, inefficient and not fun to drive. So Boniface and his team literally went back to the drawing board and "took as much visual mass out of the car as [they] could." The resulting coupe, while handsome, looks far more similar to its four-door companion than did Cadillac's CTS.
