We are selling this all original 1978 Eldo from our private collection. The miles on this car are 32,000 and is stated as such on the title by the Florida DMV. Although we are not the original owners of the car, it has been in our collection for some time. We have taken the car on road trips, car shows and events. The chrome is in impeccable condition, all the rubber seals around the windows are original and show no signs of cracking or deterioration. The paint is 100 % original along with the urethane bumper extensions which are as pliable (soft) as they day they came out of the factory. The car was stored by the original owner in a climate controlled garage in Wyoming. The paint shines like a mirror and is also original. The interior is 100% perfect, the leather seats are original and soft, no cracks in the dashboard or door panels, carpets are perfect. Look closely at the photos I'm providing. The interior, motor, trunk have NEVER been professionally detailed....nor do they need to be. The body has been polished by hand and to the best of my knowledge, has never been machine buffed. Yet, it shines like a mirror. The car does have a few minor stone chips and a couple extremely minor, barely noticeable dings. The car truly speaks for itself. It is extremely hard to find a true survivor in this kind of condition. The car is available to be seen by appointment. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Opel director Sedran to succeed Docherty as Chevy Europe boss
Wed, 26 Jun 2013When longtime General Motors executive Susan Docherty announced she would be stepping down from her post as the head of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, there was some idle chatter that plans for the creation of a new global overseer position for the Bowtie brand was behind the move. And while US sales chief Alan Batey has indeed assumed control of Chevy worldwide since her departure announcement, Docherty's vacancy is being filled after all, with Opel chief strategist Thomas Sedran taking up the reins.
That's according to Automotive News, who reports that Sedran will be tasked with pulling Chevy out of a sales funk, much of it pegged on Europe's stagnant auto industry, which has sunk to a 20-year low. AN notes that Chevy's EU sales plunged 32 percent to 57,584 units through the first five months of 2013, but the everyday value brand is faring worlds better than Cadillac, which has sold just 167 units in Europe over the same time period.
Sedran, 48, has been in the auto industry for over 20 years. Most recently, at Opel he had been working on long-term plans for the marque, and was appointed to the brand's management board in April of last year. Prior to joining GM, Sedran was employed as a management consultant for AlixPartners, where he worked closely with Opel for six years. Sedran will assume his new duties beginning July 1.
Cadillac planning more Vsport models
Wed, 28 Aug 2013There's a new intermediate class of luxury performance cars emerging. Audi has been doing it for years with its S-line bridging the gap, in many cases, between the standard fare and the full-on RS performance range. BMW's getting in on it with the M Sport line slotting in below the full M models. And now Cadillac is joining the fun with its Vsport offerings.
Models like the CTS Vsport and XTS Vsport are packing a new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 410 or more horsepower (along with bigger wheels and brakes) to slot in between the standard model and any impending V variant. Well, it appears Cadillac isn't about to stop there.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Cadillac product chief Hampden Tener revealed that, based on the response to the XTS Vsport, the brand is planning more Vsport models. He did not, however, indicate which would be the next to get the slightly sportier treatment. With the full ATS-V expected to pack a version of the same engine powering the aforementioned XTS and CTS Vsport models, an ATS Vsport would have to pack a smaller engine to fit in below. That only leaves the SRX crossover, Escalade SUV and the upcoming ELR hybrid. Food for thought.
2014 Cadillac CTS configurator open for business
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Cadillac has just set the new configurator for the redesigned, 2014 CTS live. While we've already tested out the new CTS, this is our first chance to play with all the interior and exterior color options and to get a fair idea of the price. The new CTS covers a broad swath from the $46,025 base model, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, to the $59,995 VSport, complete with its brawny, 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
It doesn't take much to send the CTS's price up from there, though. Opt for the VSport Premium trim, and the price immediately jumps $10,000. Opting for one of the premium paint colors is all that's needed to nudge the CTS past $70,000. For reference, a 556-horsepower CTS-V (previous-generation, naturally) starts at $64,515.
