Up for auction AS-IS and WHERE-IS is a 2001 Cadillac DeVille DTS with 4.6L V8 Northstar engine. It is a beautiful car with very nice pearl white paint, polished chrome factory rims, leather interior, and Bose premium sound system. The air conditioning works good. The tires have approximately 60 to 70% of the original tread still left. It would be a great car for a do-it-yourself mechanic if you had an engine from another car or a salvage yard that you could put in it. It needs an engine replacement or rebuild. The car starts but it is not roadworthy and will need to be picked up locally and trailered or towed by the winning bidder. The transmission shifts hard and will need work too. A part for the transmission was purchased based on the recommendations of a mechanic and is included with the car. It was being driven regularly until it started having engine problems last fall. I have been told the 8th digit in the VIN is a 9 which tells you what engine should work in this car if you have one you would want to install but it is your responsibility to verify that information with a dealer or salvage yard. It is a very nice car on the outside, and the inside is also in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. Please ask any questions through eBay messaging prior to bidding. Cadillac expects major growth in China
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US sales issues facing Cadillac are not being paralleled in the People's Republic of China, as a new report from Automotive News indicates the US luxury maker should see its sales increase by as much as 40 percent.
The report cites Cadillac's own forecasts, which put its 2014 sales in the PRC at 70,000 units after cresting 45,000 vehicles at the end of August. Provided the sales pace holds true through 2015, the brand would hit its new 100,000-unit sales goal, AN reports.
"We're very optimistic about the luxury market, we believe that the luxury market by 2016 here will become the largest luxury market in the world, surpassing even the size of luxury in Europe," GM China President Matthew Tsien told AN. "With [Cadillac president] Johan [de Nysschen], we have somebody that really is an executive that understands luxury, but he also is very, very keen on understanding what do we need here in China for Cadillac to be successful."
Next-gen Cadillac Escalade debuting October 7 in NYC
Wed, 14 Aug 2013Cadillac will unveil the next Escalade in October, at an event in New York City. It will be the sole member of GM's large SUV family to not get a debut at the Texas State Fair, which we don't think is all that surprising, considering the kind of clientele attracted by the big Caddy.
The new truck, from the few teaser images and spy shots we've seen, has evolved with the rest of the Cadillac range. We've got a glimpse of its tall, thin headlights, which look like an evolution of what's on the current truck. Expect some kind of egg-crate grille, reminiscent of the new CTS and ATS, while Cadillac's CUE system should feature heavily in what we hope is a thoroughly revised cabin.
The event takes place on October 7, so check back then for more info on the all-new Escalade.
2014 Cadillac CTS starts $7k higher than last model at $46,025*
Thu, 13 Jun 2013The redesigned 2014 Cadillac CTS will be more powerful, stylish and luxurious than its predecessor, but it will also be much more expensive. With a new starting price of $46,025 (*including $925 for destination), the 2014 CTS represents a price increase of more than $7,000 compared to the 2013 model, but it should be more appropriately sized and equipped to take on rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which start at $47,800 and $51,900, respectively.
Available trim levels - referred to as Collections - include Luxury, Performance and Premium, offering either a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder or a 3.6-liter V6 and the choice of either rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations. For more performance, the all-new CTS Vsport model will have an asking price of $59,995. This 420-horsepower model is more powerful than both the BMW 550i and Mercedes E550 and about $2,000 less expensive than both.
There's still no word on what Cadillac has in store for a next-gen CTS-V sedan, but we're guessing power and price will both rise considerably. Scroll down for more info on the 2014 CTS that is set to go on sale this fall.
