This Cadillac is in great shape and runs as good as it looks. Driven daily last summer. Speedometer reads 70808, but should add about 400 miles from last years mileage. The speedometer cable broke last year as I pulled it out of storage. I am only the third owner of this car. A doctors wife bought it new and drove it during the summers until 1990 at which time my father purchased it. Beginning in 1998 he employed a body shop to complete a frame off restoration. Every part was stripped down, repaired, repainted, or replaced with all original Cadillac parts. The restoration was complete in the spring of 2000 at a cost of $18,000.   The 472 cubic inch motor and transmission were rebuilt and the frame and underbody were thoroughly undercoated. In all of it's 41 years this car has never seen a winter road. All suspension and brake system parts were replaced with new. The interior is completely original leather. There is no major damage to the leather, however it is very old and isn't as supple as it once was. Both armrests are cracked as you can see in the photo's. You will also notice that there are a few areas with some rust. This is mostly evident around the fender skirts. The skirts themselves are in great shape, but were removed last year to install new rear tires. At that time the hardware used to secure the skirts to the body were too rusted to re-secure the skirts. There is also a slow leak at the rear seal of the transmission. More photos can be made available through email upon request. **Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.** I have a car hauler so a delivery deal may be negotiable.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.

Cadillac's new ad campaign to tell you how to get lucky

Thu, 05 Sep 2013

Cadillac is set to launch a new ad campaign this fall, as it attempts to maintain the momentum established by new models like the ATS. The campaign comes from an agency called Rogue, and according to AdAge, will lean on American values. It's called, "Work Hard. Be Lucky."
The campaign is fairly self-explanatory, just from the tagline. It's meant to make a Cadillac seem more attainable to the average, aspirational buyer. It does kind of pander to that American idea that everyone's hard work gets rewarded, but as ad campaigns go, that's not a bad thing.
Somehow, it doesn't roll off the tongue quite like "The Standard of the World." As AdAge points out, Cadillac's advertising over the years has lacked a real coherent theme, although we'll admit to enjoying the most recent campaigns, particularly the around-the-world jaunts with the ATS. It's unclear if the "Work Hard. Be Lucky." theme will evolve into an actual tagline for the brand, with Caddy spokesman Dave Caldwell telling the advertising mag, "It could very easily end up being a line of copy along with other lines; we don't really know yet. It's an open question as to how dramatically it will be featured."
