1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille

My beautiful 1959 Cadillac has had a frame-on restoration to a rust free, California car.  Flawless base coat / clear coat paint, new carpet and padding, reupholstered seats and new headliner.  Glass is all original and in excellent condition. Engine compartment is clean, stock/original appearance and has been nicely detailed including many new, restored or rebuilt parts.  Car runs great; 390 cid V8 engine is quiet and strong. The trunk rubber weatherstrip is new. Frame and undercarriage is solid and in great condition as expected.  All bumpers are original shiny chrome. This is a true Coupe deVille with the deluxe interior

The original horn ring is in excellent condition. I've noticed many other cars for sale that are missing the horn ring or it is broken. The reproductions just don't look right; they are bulky and too thick. I've seen original horn rings sell for $800 or more!  Note the RARE original factory black floor mats included with the car.  Another detail which makes this car stand out is it's wide white wall tires. They are original style and period correct.

Please contact me for additional photos and ask all questions BEFORE placing your best bid.  Serious buyers only please; sorry no trades.  Will sell worldwide.  A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours from the end of the auction.  The balance remaining is payable by bank wire payment, bank check or personal check which will be allowed to clear.  Private seller with clear title.

Cadillac Elmiraj has production potential

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

There are many reasons to love the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept, but not the least of which is how production-ready this big coupe appears to be. Take out the overly fancy interior and a few conceptual elements of the exterior, and this looks like a coupe that could be in dealers now as the successor to the Eldorado.
On top of that, Automotive News is quoting Bob Ferguson, Cadillac senior vice president, as saying that a production version of this car is "very doable." AN adds that if the Monterey showstopper gets the green-light, this car would compete against the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and would based on Cadillac's upcoming rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan due out in 2015. The range-topping coupe would debut sometime after the sedan model. Cross your fingers.

Cadillac considering more engines, Vsport model for Escalade

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Want to roll in the latest Cadillac Escalade? You can get it with a 6.2-liter V8... or a 6.2-liter V8. Cadillac only offers the one engine option. But that may soon change.
According to the latest from Automotive News, Cadillac is contemplating a couple of new powertrain options for its blingin' big ute. The report suggests a twin-turbo V6 and a V6 turbodiesel could be offered, and that Cadillac could create a Vsport version of the Escalade like it offers on the new CTS sedan.
The more diverse engine offerings would help attract buyers from the new Lincoln Navigator, its prime competitor, which switched from a 5.4-liter V8 this year to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The turbo V6 engines (both gasoline and diesel) would also help Cadillac market the Escalade overseas - particularly in Europe, where higher fuel prices preclude the prospect of driving a big V8 SUV for many buyers. Escalade sales have dropped from 35-40k units in the mid-2000s to around 12,000 the past couple of years.

These are the top luxury cars bought by people entering the segment for the first time

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Let's say you just got a big promotion at work or the kids are moving out of the house, and you finally have some extra money. You decide to blow it all at once and treat yourself by upgrading your ride. Naturally, you look to a luxury automaker. What do you choose?
Models like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class may be tailor-made to introduce buyers to the premium segment, but a new study finds that they don't garner the highest rates of non-luxury customer conquests. It turns out that a Volvo leads among folks moving up to a premium brand, and it isn't even one that's made anymore, at that.
A recent study by Polk and IHS Automotive looked at what models had the highest rates of buyers upgrading from a non-luxury segment. The information comes from its new vehicle registration data through April 2014. All ten top models boasted conquest rates of over 50 percent, but the Volvo C70 led the field with 68.01 percent of its customers coming from non-premium brands.
