Here is a gorgeous 1958 Cadillac Coupe De Ville that is one of a total production of only 18,414 cars. No single automotive design better characterizes the industry's late-1950's flamboyance than the 1958 Cadillac. Finished in factory-correct Buckskin with original black and coral interior, this 1958 Cadillac Coupe De Ville is a beautiful, highly original western car with recently refreshed mechanicals – including the engine and exhaust. The body has been repainted, and shows very well. Chrome is reasonable but not perfect. The interior will require some work to the upholstery and carpets, or it could be enjoyed right now as it is as an extremely nice car. Please look at the photos.
The car does have air conditioning, although it is not connected at present, but all parts are fitted to the car. It will also need rubber seals fitting to the doors, trunk and hood, at least you can see it is not rusty in these areas. Since bringing the car out of dry storage this summer, the windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced.
Please note that the car is currently registered to myself in BC, Canada, and has clear title. The car was imported to Canada from the US, and can be taken back to the States with no Duty to be paid, please check the CPB.gov website to confirm this. While in Canada the Cadillac has been kept in dry storage.
The classic Cadillac market remains extremely strong and this car would make a very sound investment over the long term. Please be aware that this is not a 'show quality' car, and therefore is not $45,000. This is a usable classic, that like all collector cars I have ever owned, requires small jobs to keep on the road.
If you have ANY further questions, please contact me prior to bidding, I would prefer to answer any relevant questions before a sale, and will be as honest as I possibly can.
I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time as the car is also for sale locally.

Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.
GM announces 6 recalls covering nearly 720k cars
Wed, 23 Jul 2014General Motors has announced yet another sprawling recall campaign, with six separate elements covering 717,950 vehicles on US roads. At this point in 2014, it's starting to seem like there are more days with a GM recall than without. Perhaps most troubling about this latest volley, though, is that every vehicle is from the past few years, indicating that GM's quality woes may not be limited to pre-bankruptcy vehicles.
The largest element of this latest campaign covers 414,333 units, and includes the 2011 to 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 to 2012 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain and Cadillac SRX and the 2011 to 2012 Buick Regal and LaCrosse. Only vehicles with powered, height-adjustable seats are covered. In these particular cars and crossovers, the bolt that secures the height adjuster actuator may loosen of its own accord and in some cases fall out completely. If this happens, the seats will be able to move both up and down. GM claims the vehicles are safe to drive, provided drivers don't vertically adjust their seats. This particular issue has caused one crash and three injuries.

Facelifted Cadillac ATS spied completely uncovered
Thu, 27 Feb 2014The Cadillac ATS makes for a pretty svelte little coupe, and General Motors appears to know it, because multiple, completely undisguised prototype sedans have been spotted testing wearing what look like many of the forthcoming coupe's body parts.
Not only does it wear at least the outline of the brand's new, broader crest, it has the same front air dam with continuous chrome strip found on the coupe. The only real difference is that it has the somewhat taller side view mirrors from the sedan, rather than the narrower, longer ones from the coupe. Around back, the changes are harder to spot because the test car is outfitted with an unpainted lower bumper. However, it seems to lack the chrome strip that offsets the lower portion of the coupe from the sedan.
The ATS sedan is already a looker, but it is good to see Cadillac is taking a second pass using what it learned on the coupe. There's no word yet on when this revised sedan is going to hit the streets - let alone what changes will take place beneath the skin - but we're thinking it looks about right for 2015.
