What we have here is a 1992 Cadillac Allante Convertible. She is super clean for her age.The top is good.interior is beautiful.And the body is not bad at all.She only has 81589 miles.Which is climbing beings she is now my daily driver.This car belonged to a buddy of mind and has for years.It sat in his garage with him driving it during the summers etc.I have always loved the car so I bugged him until he sold it to me.Shes not mint or perfect but she is very nice for her age... Runs,drives,shifts,handles,etc beautifully.Almost new Firestone Potenza 225 55 16 tires.Current Va State Inspection TODAY!.If you notice even the engine is clean.The spots around the car are where i just rinsed the dust off.
Heres is what I see on her.She had a repaint somewhere along the way.Found no accidents just paint was fading so it was repainted.If you know these cars its typical... The a/c climate control does not work properly.stuck on default defrost as seen in the pic. there is a ding in the hood about the size of a dime if that.The rubber strip below the convertible top below the back window needs replaced as seen in pic..No leaks just a rubber strip.The rear bumper has a stress crack on the left corner where someone apparently bumped into it in a parking lot.And the passenger window switch isnt working.works from drivers side.Other than that she is PRETTY NICE.!!!All the emblems were in the glove box except the Allante one on the right taillight.Im guessing she fell off somewhere along its travels..I see all the parts on ebay for less than $500.00 total.We just want to see what she will bring on here. call me at 757-967-9299 |

GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns
Thu, 15 May 2014The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.

A few years ago, Audi Of America's boss Johan de Nysschen went on record describing the Chevrolet Volt as "a car for idiots." Fast-forward to earlier this summer, and the well-regarded executive suddenly found himself in a new office with new business cards bearing the title: President, Cadillac. That means that among other challenges, de Nysschen is now tasked with selling the ELR, a car that is, at its core, a Volt in a sportier, less utile frock wearing a price tag that's twice as expensive.
Frankly, it's not a prospect we imagine the South African executive and recent Infiniti boss relishes. Just about nobody is buying the ELR - Cadillac has sold but 774 examples of its plug-in hybrid coupe this year and it presently has an almost a 200-day supply according to Automotive News. What's more, those numbers actually represent big improvements over just a few months ago, before GM started heaping on the incentives. The cynic in us says that the bad news for De Nysschen is that he's got a borderline sales-proof car in his new corporate garage. The good news? Cadillac customers apparently aren't idiots.

Cadillac has pulled the wraps off of its newest family member, the long-rumored, Voltec-powered, eye-catching extended range hybrid coupe called the ELR. The car makes use of the same basic architecture as the Chevrolet Volt, but has been thoroughly layered on with design, technology and performance tuning - with the goal of being a properly situated product for the Cadillac brand.
