Selling my 1994 Buick Roadmaster - one owner, had it since new. Just over 97,000 miles.
*5.7 L V8 LT1 engine - runs great! *New tires sometime in 2012 - probably only about 2000 miles on them *Body is perfect, just the usual dings from being nearly 20 years old - only had one very minor fender bender, but it only broke a parking light and cracked the shroud under the bumper (this thing is a tank!) *Cloth seats in very good condition - no tears or ripped seams Issues: *Needs an AC compressor - it burned out recently but never had it repaired. *Transmission clunks once in a while - might need some work down the line, but it shifts fine and smooth most of the time *There are some minor issues with the trim on the inside - top of the dashboard is cracked from the south Texas heat; 3 of the 4 panels where the door handle is have been replaced with a different color panel (never got around to re-painting them); some of the other door trim has cracked, but we've tried to repair as best we can; the horn went out, so we added a horn button under the light switch - perfectly legal and has passed inspection every time since; the carpet under the driver's left foot under the park brake is worn; and the trunk lock fell apart - had to remove it and use a screwdriver to open the trunk. What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
Opel readying Adam model with SUV cues
Fri, 11 Oct 2013The Opel Adam, the microcar of General Motors' European subsidiary, has seen its sales cool significantly since it first hit the market in the United Kingdom and Europe, but a push is reportedly under way that just might be enough to get the stylish, little car moving again.
Using the Opel Adam Rocks Concept as a template, Opel will ruggedize the Adam, so that it might compete with the growing herd of city cars that sport SUV styling, like the Volkswagen Cross Up and Fiat Panda 4x4, according to a report from Automotive News Europe. Sporting a bumped-up ride height and tougher body work, it's a dedicated soft-roader, but will freshen the Adam's lineup and, hopefully, broaden its customer appeal.
The Adam Rocks, according to IHS Automotive analyst Ian Fletcher, should also make some more coin for GM's struggling European arm. "Automakers are happy to meet demand for SUV and crossovers as the customer pays a premium," Fletcher told ANE. And although the Rocks might have been planned from the start as a production vehicle, the timing, with the Adam's sales slowdown, doesn't seem like a coincidence.
