Here you have probably the nicest original low mileage Riviera Convertible you will ever see for sale. The car was purchased new on 9/23/1982 and always garaged originally at his home in Kingwood ,Texas and later at his Reno ,Nevada home. Please note the underside pictures-absolutely zero rust. It is all original with no accidents and a clean Carfax Report. It was owned by one mature and careful owner until 8/19/2013 when it was sold to a Classic Car Dealer in Southern California where I purchased the car about one month ago.  I'm 71 yrs old and bought the car because it was so nice and I thought my wife would love it. Well she doesn't and since I don't go anywhere without her there is no sense in keeping it. I have over $20,000 invested but will take less for a quick sale. If it doesn't sell I will just keep it until next summer and relist or sell locally.

These Riviera Convertibles are very desirable and increasingly collectible particularly in this condition with extremely low miles. A total of only 3898 were produced from 1982 thru 1985 and only about 30% were Firemist Red while the rest were White which adds to the rarity of this car. The 1982 models are considered most collectible because it was the only year they had the hand sewn " Moroccan Leather " interior in Maple reminiscent of  convertbles of the past. The later models used the standard factory interior that was also used in the coupe's.

This car starts , runs and drives like new. I don't believe you will find a finer example and with only 17,250 miles from new its about as new as you will ever find in a 32 yr old car. The tires , belts and all hoses were replaced about 2000 miles ago so the car can be driven any distance reliably. I welcome your personal inspections prior to bidding. Thanks and good luck.

Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates

Mon, 26 Nov 2012

Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.

Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.

Buick asks design students 'What could a Buick sedan look like in 2030?'

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

When you think of daring concept cars or emotional design-student projects, Buick probably isn't the first brand that comes to mind. It's not for lack of concepts; when General Motors ran down 11 concept-car highlights from Buick's 110-year history, three of them are from the past 15 years, with other experiments in that same timeframe like the Black Hawk, Centieme and Cielo left unmentioned.
But the company still thinks about them even if we don't. It ran a contest for students at Detroit's College for Creative Studies to create a Buick for the year 2030 that would incorporate future materials and transportation needs, and nanotechnology.
Best exterior design went to Sam Kenny for his Neo Classical Buick, Justin Salmon took honors for innovative material use, like having exposed algae on the bodyshell to generate energy, and Namsuk Lee nabbed best overall concept and best interior for his Buick Vision Sedan. You can read more about the design challenge and winners in the press release, and hear students talk about what went into the work in the video below.
