This car was purchased new by my father in law from Tatone Buick in Fairborn Ohio. Needing money for Dr. bills, he asked me to buy his baby from him rather than borrow money. I had several classic cars at the time and didn't really need this one, but I bought it and stored it in the garage where it has mostly sat for the last 20 years. I average about 200 miles per year driving it. The only things I have done to it in this time, besides changing the oil, is to replace the alternater, replace the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipes years ago, put new tires on years ago, and put new hoses, belts and vacuum advance. The tires are almost 20 years old and still have the tips on them. Not sure if brakes were ever replaced, I have not replaced them, but have had no problems, recently the brake light on the instrument panel has been coming on but goes out when I pump the brake.
Car had Zbart rust protection when new and was done over and over again until my father in law was satisfied with the results. There is no rust on the floor or underside of the body anywhere, just on exhaust, drive shaft and A frames etc that just needs to be cleaned up. Car has never been cleaned up, restored, detailed, or painted;
There has been no body damage or rust or any kind of work or paint done to the body except the trunk. Someone tried to break into the trunk by taking the lock out, while my father in law still owned the car. I think they replaced the trunk lid but not sure. but the paint on the trunk is immaculate where the rest of the car is faded and has paint deterioration, but still looks good when cleaned up.
The interior is near immaculate, except for a couple of buttons on the front seat which I have, and the rear carpet has a bad spot.

Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates
Mon, 26 Nov 2012Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
GM recalling 2013 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX over transmission software
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX due to a problem with the software for the transmission controller. On about 27,000 SRX and LaCrosse models, the transmission could accidentally be shifted to Sport mode, which would reduce the amount of engine braking drivers experience.
NHTSA says this could increase the risk of a crash, but, fortunately, the required fix is simply an update to the software.
While we're on the subject of General Motors vehicle recalls, a small number (48) of compressed natural gas versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Express are also being recalled for a potential risk of fire or explosion. Yikes. Both official recall notices are posted below.
