1999 Buick Lesabre Custom 4 Door on 2040-cars

Johnstown, Pennsylvania, United States

1999 Buick LeSabre Custom 4 - Door with 71964 miles. The exterior is pewter and the cloth interior is a matching shade of light brown. Vehicle was originally purchased new in March of 1999. Purchase by current owner from local Buick dealership in November 2006 with 63365 miles. This is a western Pennsylvania car and though driven only 71964 miles, and only 8600 miles since current owner purchase -- it was subject to western Pennsylvania winters, which include snow, ice and road salt. If you look at the pictures closely you will see rust has started in the rocker panel area on both sides of the vehicle. I cannot speak as to the condition of the undercarriage as it pertains to rust or deterioration. There are also several scrapes, dings and dents on the vehicle which I attempt to show in the pictures. Although the majority of these blemishes only detract from the overall appearance of the vehicle, the most serious appears to be the left front headlight assembly unit. It is pulled slightly away from the fender and I do not know if this will effect the headlight alignment or adjustment. I am listing this vehicle for a friend who is no longer driving. With that said I do not know the complete history or maintenance schedule and can only speak as to what is visually apparent. The 'hood ornament' you see on the vehicle was added as a center guide for the current owner and in no way effect the character of the car. It is attached with plastic tie-straps and can easily be removed. As with any purchase I strongly suggest and urge that before a bid is placed that the prospective bidder opt for an independent inspection on the vehicle. Not knowing everything concerning this vehicles history puts me at a disadvantage, so once again an independent vehicle inspection is highly recommended. Certainly the vehicle is not perfect but it is a nice original paint car none the less. This vehicle is being sold 'as is' with no warranty. Also, this vehicle is being advertised for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if vehicle sells locally. If any help or additional pictures are needed please let me know. Thank you.

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle vs 1987 Buick GNX in Generation Gap showdown

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Generation Gap generally tries to adhere to a theme for each episode, and for the final video from the Lingenfelter collection, the series might have its best idea yet - limited-production muscle cars from General Motors.
On one side you get a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle COPO, and it's an absolute sleeper. Other than the SS wheels, this classic coupe looks practically bone stock, at least until the engine fires up. Under the hood is a 427-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 making a claimed 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This was the sole year for the COPO package on the Chevelle, and Chevy only made about 323 of them.
The Chevelle's challenger is almost as rare and arguably just as cool. The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX looks just as mean today as when new. It eschews a traditional muscular V8 in favor of a 3.8-liter turbo V6 making a claimed 276 hp and 360 lb-ft, although that number is supposedly a bit underrated. Also, just 547 examples of the GNX version were ever built making it quite a collector's item too.

2013 Buick Encore

Ignored On Arrival, But Coming On Strong
An image exists out there that perfectly conveys the fate we thought would befall the Buick Encore after its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shot shows the just-unveiled Encore on stage, basking in the glow of spotlights but surrounded by a large display area that's bereft of both cars and people. Two journalists are sitting on a couch over to the side, both facing the Encore but ignoring it as they inspect their swag, and a solitary custodial engineer pushes a vacuum back and forth across a sea of gray carpet.
Like a kid with his birthday cake at a party no one came to, this little crossover's debut was largely, almost cruelly, ignored. Who can blame us, though? Two shows ago, the Motor City's main stage welcomed the redesigned Aston Martin-esque Ford Fusion, the 3 Series-assassin ATS from Cadillac and the return of Dodge to the small car game with the Dart. A fourth model for the wayward Buick brand, especially one so arguably un-Buick in form and function, did not seem to deserve the attention paid to its peers that year.

Small number of 2013 Buick Encore models recalled for loose steering wheel

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

General Motors has issued a recall and a stop sale for the 2013 Buick Encore due to an issue that could result in the steering wheel falling off on certain models. In a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM says that 144 Encores equipped with heated steering wheels could have been incorrectly retrofitted due to a parts shortage.
Needless to say, a loose or separated steering wheel would likely cause an accident if it happened while the vehicle was in motion. The recall doesn't go into effect until April 12, but concerned Encore owners can use the official recall notice (attached below) to contact GM.
