Just for clarification my 85 GN was recently appraised for $30,000 by a highly qualified appraiser for the following reasons.

1. Number produces – 85 GN production was 2102 w/ONLY 174 MADE W/T-TOPS. 87 GN production was 20,740 of which 547 were GNXs.

2. Documentation and Ownership – This GN is documented from day one to present. I have visited with the ORIGINAL OWNER in WI. And he stated this car was Buick’s feature car at the MOTOR TREND AUTO SHOW in Milwaukee and was then purchased from the showroom floor of Bob Tolkan Buick Inc. I have the original window sticker and the Body By Fisher T-Top bags.

3. Originality and Condition – My GN is as factory as they come. It is totally original with 40587mi. The tires, battery and exhaust have been replaced. The rest is how it came from the factory! This car is UNMOLESTED!!!! As of Oct. this year I will have had the pleasure of ownership for 20 YEARS. The car has now turned 28 years of age and is now a classic.

This 85 GN is an investment grade vehicle which kept in current condition for the next 8-10 years will appreciate $10,000 or more in value. You will not find another 85 GN anywhere that meet the above qualifications.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

2013 Buick Encore

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ignored On Arrival, But Coming On Strong
An image exists out there that perfectly conveys the fate we thought would befall the Buick Encore after its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shot shows the just-unveiled Encore on stage, basking in the glow of spotlights but surrounded by a large display area that's bereft of both cars and people. Two journalists are sitting on a couch over to the side, both facing the Encore but ignoring it as they inspect their swag, and a solitary custodial engineer pushes a vacuum back and forth across a sea of gray carpet.
Like a kid with his birthday cake at a party no one came to, this little crossover's debut was largely, almost cruelly, ignored. Who can blame us, though? Two shows ago, the Motor City's main stage welcomed the redesigned Aston Martin-esque Ford Fusion, the 3 Series-assassin ATS from Cadillac and the return of Dodge to the small car game with the Dart. A fourth model for the wayward Buick brand, especially one so arguably un-Buick in form and function, did not seem to deserve the attention paid to its peers that year.

2015 Buick Verano gets styling tweak, loses 6-speed manual

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

Well, all good things must come to an end. For 2015, the Buick Verano's experiment with a manual transmission will cease, as the American manufacturer has announced it will discontinue the 6MT in the turbocharged version of its compact sedan. According to Buick, the take rate on the Verano Turbo 6MT was (unsurprisingly) low, leading to its discontinuation.
That's not the only bit of news for the Verano, though. After a few years on the market, Buick has seen fit to refresh the popular sedan. The visual changes aren't huge, really, with subtle tweaks to the headlights and taillights. We'd bargain that the average passer-by wouldn't notice a difference between the two.
The main aesthetic change is a new appearance package, available on the mid-range Convenience and Leather option groups. Unimaginatively called just that - Appearance Package - it offers up a new paint color, Desert Dusk Metallic, as well as a grille treatment and a rear spoiler. The new package is, however, limited to naturally aspirated models.
