Buick Electra 225 1968 4 Door 145,687 Miles Look!!! Tacoma Washington on 2040-cars

Year:1968 Mileage:145687
Location:

Tacoma, Washington, United States

Tacoma, Washington, United States

This car is 95% original and nearly an unmolested complete piece of automotive history! I have the original Owner's Protection Plan booklet with ID plate still inside, the original owner's manual,  and receipts and documentation supporting that the mileage is only at 114,551 and showing there was over $6,500 in repairs made from 2004 up until now! Mechanically this car is in great shape. Only 700 miles since a full tune up was performed on the numbers matching 430 cu in engine that does not smoke or burn any oil.

Parts I have acquired since buying the car include: one full set of fender skirts plus an additional one for the passenger side, a year correct am/fm radio (the car was ordered without one), and a spare set of front aluminum drums.

The car is equipped with the TH400 automatic transmission, PW/PB/PS/AC/Power bench seat, functional cornering lamps, and optional shoulder harnesses. All lights and electrical work, the AC requires a recharge, upholstery needs work, there is some body damage, but corrosion is minimal (surface) to non-existent. The floors, trunk, rocker panels and quarters are solid. All the stainless trim and chrome are present and in good shape. The fuel gage reading is suspect and will probably require a new float level switch. This is a great opportunity to get in at "ground level" on a true classic and is considered a driving/restore project. New in 1968, these cars sold for just over $4,000 and the value of them fully restored is $8,000 and up and with more vanishing each day, the prices will only climb. I will consider offers around my asking price by serious buyers. It pains me to have to part ways with this beauty. Will not part out, so don't ask and the parts I have are for this car.

Buick has best sales year ever, delivers over 1M cars globally

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

If there are any lingering doubts why General Motors held onto Buick while killing Pontiac, Hummer and Saturn, one only has to look at the sales numbers from 2013 for the real answer. Thanks largely to strong sales in China, Buick set a global sales record last year by selling more than one million vehicles.
The lion's share of Buick sales came from China, which sold more than 809,000 units - about four times more Buicks than were sold in North America as a whole. In the US, the Buick Encore accounted for almost half of all US sales with 97,311 units as Buick spent the summer trying to keep up with demand of the subcompact crossover. Likewise, China-only models like the GL8 minivan and Excelle sedan (same as the US-spec Verano) were strong sellers in that market.
For good measure, Buick more than doubled its sales in Mexico with 2,319 units. Scroll down for the full press release.

Buick picks top 11 highlights from first 11 decades

Sun, 21 Apr 2013

Buick has taken the time to highlight some of the company's personal points of pride from the past 110 years. Those include everything from the automaker's very first vehicle, the 1904 Model B, to what Buick claims is the world's first concept car: The 1938 Y Job (above). That one also walked away with the worst name for a design study.
All told, the automaker has sold 43 million vehicles through the end of last year, and those include the lusty 1963 Riviera. That model celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2013, and remains one of the brand's most iconic designs.
Of course, Buick is rightfully proud of its quickest model, too. The 1987 GNX managed a 4.6-second bolt to 60 mph in tests by Car and Driver, and it also took the honor of being one of the automaker's rarest creations at just 547 units. You can check out all 10 in the gallery above.

GM mulling Chevy Cruze hatchback for US, Buick 'Panamera' among other new models

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've spoken at length previously about the fallacy of poor hatchback sales in the US, and with the runaway success of its Chevrolet Cruze sedan, it's somewhat unsurprising to hear that General Motors is rethinking its decision not to sell an overseas five-door variant in North America as it looks to plug a number of holes in its lineup. GM North American President Mark Reuss admitted during a media luncheon this week that not offering the model "... was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake," says Forbes. With the next-generation model already well-along in development, it's likely that the current Cruze hatch (shown above) won't see US dealers.
Reuss admits not offering the model "was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake"
In what must have been a far-reaching conversation, Reuss hinted at a number of new products for many GM brands, including "a much more beautiful Panamera" range-topper for Buick (which sounds a bit like the line of reasoning the TriShield brand has been pursuing with its Riviera concepts) and a "Ford Transit Connect-fighter" to supplant the recently announced badge-engineered Chevy City Express from Nissan.
