2006 BMW X5 4.8is - Imola Red - If you are looking at this listing then I imagine you know how rare this truck is. Imola red was only offered for M cars (M3, M5, M6, and X5 4.6 / 4.8is). This X5 truly is the last of the true, they don't make cars like this anymore. Every available option and everything works: * GPS * Parking sensors * 6-CD changer * Panoramic sun roof * Full function steering wheel * Blue tooth * Aux iPod plug in (original bmw part) * Graphite Grey Trim * Parking sensors Maintenance (all performed this year): * All new valve cover gaskets * All new engine seals * New belly pan gasket * New spark plugs * New engine mounts (both sides) - Absolutely no oil leaks or burning oil - * Brand new tires (All 4 Toyo Proxis STII) - Installed last month * Entire Sunroof mechanism replaced (Common X5 issue) * Removed the air suspension and replaced it with standard shock / spring setup (Done for reliability and to avoid future air suspension faults). Only thing to note is because the air suspension was removed, it does display the "Check Air Susp" fault. * H&R Lowering Springs * New Fuel pump This is quite possibly one of the cleanest 4.8is around, it's rare, exclusive, and powerful. It was maintained by an enthusiast with no expense spared. All the maintenance is done. No more air suspension to replace! Yes you can buy a cheaper one but be prepared for thousands in maintenance that I have already done. I am not desperate to sell. Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R Nismo star in World's Greatest Drag Race 4
Fri, 26 Sep 2014We love Motor Trend's annual World's Greatest Drag Race video. Now back for its fourth appearance, the idea of lining some of the world's fastest cars up for a ten-wide, straight-line, full-throttle run is, well... it's pretty freaking badass.
The lineup this year boasts some impressively fast cars to be sure. The group of ten includes the following darlings: Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i8, BMW M4, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Ford Fiesta ST, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Subaru WRX STI and, last but not least, the Volkswagen GTI. Give us any one of those for the weekend, and we're happy to take the keys.
It must be said though, that for a publication that draws as much water as Motor Trend does, there are some big cars that we might expect to be here instead. The Lamborghini Huracán or Ferrari 458 Speciale would have added some exotic flare to the list, and the omissions of the Chevy Corvette Stingray (for the second year in a row) and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat are real head-scratchers.
Alpina bringing new B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio to Geneva
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Interested in picking up a new BMW 4 Series with a turbo six? You've got options: you can get the 435i with 300 horsepower or spring for the M4 with 425 hp. But if it's the convertible model you want, we're afraid you'll be limited to the latter as the M division can't help you (at least not for the time being). But that's where Alpina comes in.
The aftermarket tuner closely associated with BMW offers the B4 Bi-Turbo (at least in Europe) with that same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six massaged up to 410 horsepower that starts to pose a threat to the M4. What's more is that the Alpina's 442 pound-feet of torque eclipses the M4's 406 lb-ft, to say nothing of the 435i's 300.
Best of all, Alpina just confirmed via Facebook that it'll offer the B4 in convertible form, bringing the resulting BMW Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio to the Geneva Motor Show. We'd expect the weight penalty to knock it slightly off the coupe's quoted 4.1-second 0-60 time, but not by much. If only BMW were to bring this one Stateside like it does with the B7 sedan.
