Convertible Blacked Out Smg V10 Fully Loaded With Warranty on 2040-cars
Flanders, New Jersey, United States
Mechanical Warranty serviced by Fidelity Warranty Services to 1/31/2015 or 82,996 miles.
This car is a head turner! The wheels and front grill have been blacked out, and the windows were tinted. The car is very fast and even has a launch feature, just like Ferraris. This car is a regular at the Chatham, NJ Cars and Croissants. With 500 horsepower and V-10 motor, this car blows away just about anything on the road. This M6 has been serviced exclusively at the BMW of Roxbury and I have all of the service records. No service lights or warning lights display.
The car is fully loaded. No option was missed. Heads up display, heated seats, navigation, satellite radio, MP3 hookup, ski bag pass through, lumbar support, power seats and windows, parking sensors, upgraded sound system, etc.
The transmission is the 7 speed SMG, so you can use the paddles on the steering wheel, the joystick, or leave in Drive and let it shift itself. Great if your in traffic and don't want to shift, and then you can take control with the paddles on the back roads or when traffic breaks up.
This car has never been tracked, and has been very well maintained. I do not drive the car frequently, but I will not drive it unless it looks pristine. She gets frequent full detail services at Super Car Wash in Somerville and I usually quick detail spray and windex before I take her out of the garage. My garage is heated and she has never been driven in the snow, and rarely in the rain.
I have had this car for about 2.5 years and loved taking it down the shore or out 447 to Lake Wallenpaupack. This car has unbelievable handling and lots of acceleration. It's a blast and I am sad to see her go. |

BMW names new head of M division
Wed, 24 Sep 2014BMW's performance division has been run by Dr. Friedrich Nitschke since 2011, developing, among other products, the new M3 and M4. But soon the good doctor will be retiring, and BMW has just named his successor.
Taking Nitschke's place as chairman of BMW M GmbH will be Franciscus van Meel (pictured at right), who until recently served as managing director of Audi Quattro GmbH - the rival outfit that makes Ingolstadt's performance models, including the R8 supercar and RS line of performance models.
Van Meel will join BMW on October 1, presumably to learn the ropes from Nitschke before the 59-year-old executive steps down at the end of the year. Back in January, Audi named Heinz Peter Hollwerweger as head of Quattro GmbH and reassigned van Meel to its Beijing R&D center, a role which evidently didn't suit him as well as creating Autobahn-storming German muscle cars.
Finalists for 2014 Green Car of the Year announced
Thu, 17 Oct 2013The list of finalists for the 2014 Green Car of the Year has been announced, and in a genuinely bizarre twist, there's only one hybrid and no electric vehicles among the five contestants, despite the arrival of cars like the BMW i3 and Tesla Model S. Taking the place of the EVs are a pair of diesels, repping a technology that last won a Green Car of the Year award in 2009, when the Audi A3 TDI took the title. No diesel was in the running for last year's award.
Naturally, both of the diesel finalists are fielded by the Germans - with BMW's 328d and Audi's A6 TDI getting the nod. In the case of the 3 Series, BMW installed a 2.0-liter, turbodiesel, capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while returning 45 miles per gallon on the highway. Audi and its larger, 3.0-liter, V6 turbodiesel produce quite a bit more grunt, with 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of grunt, but net a very impressive 38 mpg on the highway in the A6.
Finalists for this year's awards include two diesels, three gas-powered cars and a plug-in hybrid.
BMW 2 Series Convertible goes for a drive in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013The BMW 2 Series is the car that will eventually replace the 1 Series here in the United States (remember: the 1 Series moniker will live on to describe the hatchback models in other markets), and while we've seen the new coupe out on the prowl, we're now seeing the droptop version out on the road. We don't have much information about the new 2er models, only that they are expected to bow sometime in 2014.
Dimensionally, the new 2 Series convertible looks very similar in size to its outgoing 1 Series kin, with things like the roofline and roof shape looking nearly identical. Of course, reworked front and rear fascias are immediately noticeable, and judging by what little we can see, it appears as though the small BMW will take many of its design cues from the larger 3 Series rather than the oft-awkward-looking 1 Series hatch that's currently available in Europe.
Assuming things are still on track for 2014, we won't rule out a possible debut in Geneva, though the Frankfurt expo in September makes even more sense.
