Very nice, rust free 1988 BMW M6 coupe for sale here. Mileage is 93196, which is the actual mileage, the car has never been hit. Even the glass is original.

List of work and dates: (All of the claims below can be substantiated through bills of sale, which I have. Over 15k invested during the past 4 years.)
01/12-07/12
Rebuilt the lower end of the engine (crank and connecting rods by previous owner, new BMW rod and main bearings by me) and replaced the aging oil pump. Complete re-seal of the engine.
All front end control arms replaced with Lemfoerder OEM parts
Struts and strut bearings replaced with Bilstein parts
Front calipers fully rebuilt by VAC motorsports in Phila, PA.
All new associated caliper parts and nipples. New OEM flex lines.
Rotors resurfaced
New Hydraulic pump and high pressure hoses (BMW and Contitech). New filter (BMW).
New hydraulic system sensors (for the self leveling system).
New alternator (Bosch).
New belts (Contitech).
New battery (Interstate).
New rear rotors (Brembo).
New rear sway bar end links (Lemfoerder).
New O2 sensor (Bosch OEM).
New Impulse senders (BMW).
New fuel pressure regulator (Bosch).
New under hood vacuum lines.
New Throttle Position Sensor (Bosch OEM).
MAF fully cleaned of all buildup and deposits.
Set of new Bosch OEM plugs.
New air filter (BMW).
System flushed with 6 year coolant.
Rear fluid changed.
Valves adjusted.
Replaced the blower control unit and trip computer.
New Odometer gear in cluster (preventative).

04-06/13
Complete sheet metal restoration of small areas of rust in the rear wheel wells by a qualified shop with good restoration project experience. Repaired small ding on right rear Q.P., and scratch on bumper extension. Color matching handled by the DuPont ChromaVision system.

06/13
New OEM Tie rods and sway bar bushings up front. Full alignment after.

The previous owner had the car painted in Glasurit BASF BMW part # paint. The top surfaces are good, the sides are VG.
He also replaced the radiator, all the electrical sensors on it, the fan and mechanical clutch, the water pump and thermostat. The A/C was converted to 134a, I had the system vacuumed and refilled, and the PAG oil refreshed. The starter is also new.
All factory tags are on the body panels, and the glass is original.
The wheels are the originals with no rash, and the TRX GT's are in VG+ condition with over 80% tread.

The car is straight and quite wonderful, it drives and handles nearly as it would have out of the factory at this point, no worries or "things around the corner."
If you are looking at this and have read this far, you know it is a well maintained (beyond that, really) beautiful and rare automobile which will increase in value as time goes by. Good ones, and I mean good ones are hard to come by. One could pay out significantly to repair even a low mileage example with original parts. These are 25 years old now, and were complex machines. Buy the one that will work when you want to take it out

See the photos, ask questions. The price is fair for the work done, and for a such a complete and honest rust free car. I have other interior pics, just ask.

2015 BMW X4 gets its small-screen debut

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

It's easy to dismiss the 2015 BMW X4. On one hand, the high-style crossover seems more like a boardroom decision than a practical one. In a world with the 3 Series, 4 Series, X3, 3 Series GT and 4 Series Gran Coupe, is BMW really being inundated with requests for a baby X6? Of course, when we finally got behind the wheel of the CUV for our First Drive, it proved rather entertaining, and certainly the X6's global sales success suggests that it's worth the relatively low-cost risk for the Bavarian automaker.
Now, it's the general public's chance to weigh in on the latest crossover Bimmer and vote with their dollars. The X4 is just hitting showrooms in the US, and BMW is beginning its marketing campaign for it with the slogan "Embrace the Unknown." The first TV ad shows off the CUV driving through the world's major cities as they undulate like the rolling ocean. A woman flatly says phrases starting with "Go," while a synth-heavy score plays underneath that wouldn't be out of place over the end credits in an '80s sci-fi movie.
Visually, it's actually kind of a cool ad and evokes some of the special effects from Inception. Focusing on an urban atmosphere is probably a good idea, too, because the percentage of X4s going offroad is likely to be in the low single digits, if that. Now, let's see if BMW buyers are willing to embrace the unknown of the X4. Scroll down to watch it for yourself.

2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe is ready for your favorite roads

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

We've known about the ins and outs of the lovely BMW M6 Gran Coupe for a while now, but that doesn't mean we weren't happy to see the thing in the metal for the first time, here in Detroit.
The M-tuned Gran Coupe utilizes the same 4.4-liter forced-induction V8 that powers both the BMW M6 and the M5, with an output of 560 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The fast four-door brings up 60 miles per hour in just 4.1-seconds - the same sprint time as the M6 coupe and a few tenths quicker than the M5 - and up to a limited top speed of 155 mph.
We love those performance figures - this is one new Bimmer that we're amped to get some seat time in - though we're not super crazy about the selection of chrome wheels on this particular show car. Tells us what you think about the hotted up Gran Coupe in comments, below.

Xcar checks if BMW's i8 offers moves as electrifying as its looks

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

If you were to plot the general opinion about hybrids since their introduction among auto enthusiasts, the resulting graph would likely be shaped somewhat like a "V." In the beginning interest was high, simply due the novelty of these new powertrains, then the line would gradually fall as the models got the stereotype of being boring commuters. Today, though, things might be back on the upswing. Vehicles like the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and BMW i8 are showing that a hybrid doesn't have to be synonymous for dull. In its latest video, Xcar Films aims to find out if BMW's electrified sports coupe actually earns the brand's old moniker as the ultimate driving machine.
While the focus here is on what the i8 is like behind the wheel, one of the main highlights for the viewer is the interesting ways that Xcar shoots the BMW. It's not necessarily a beautiful vehicle, but seeing it in motion reveals all sorts of little intricacies that still photos don't pick up. For example, our eye catches the flying buttresses and little crevices scooped out of the corners when we get a look at the rear. It's just a fun car to look at.
With its 1.5-liter, turbocharged, three-cylinder engine and electric motor, the i8 positions itself as the future of automotive performance. But its intriguing looks and cutting-edge use of carbon fiber would be wasted if the coupe didn't drive well. We won't spoil the final verdict, though, you'll have to watch the video above.
