Venice, California, United States

This car has been amazing.  I bought it a little over a year ago when I was living on the East Coast and brought it out to LA with me a little while ago.  But I'm moving again and commuting so it's time to get something a little more practical.  So I'm sad to part with this beast, but happy to pass it on to the next owner who I'm sure will enjoy it.

Overall, the condition is pristine.  I encourage you to check AutoCheck or Carfax to confirm there have been no accidents or any issues at all (VIN WBSEH93587CY23562).

Function:

  • This car is in excellent condition and I've had no problems with it
  • I have regularly maintained it at the BMW dealership or certified maintenance shops
  • Only original OEM parts and manufacturer recommended oil has been used (a full oil change was just completed)

Body:

  • Rare Interlagos Blue exterior color
  • Body is in excellent condition - it has been babied
  • One small penny sized scratch on the rear corner of the bumper (barely visible)
  • One tiny nick on the hood (also barely visible)

Supplemental items:

  • Both original infrared keys, with keyless entry (both work perfectly)
  • All manuals, paperwork, software and replacement plastic parts that originally came with the vehicle
  • All records of maintenance

Terms / payment:

  • This is a no-reserve auction, so the winner will take the vehicle, at whatever price the auction ends
  • $1,000 deposit required within 24 hours of auction close
  • Cash or cashier's check with the remainder of payment is required upon pickup
  • I have done my best to describe the vehicle's condition thoroughly and accurately.  But bidder's are responsible for asking questions and confirming the condition PRIOR TO BIDDING.  I will make myself available to answer any questions promptly and to accommodate visits/inspections (anywhere in the West LA area).
  • After the auction ends, the buyer is expected to complete the transaction without additional inspection (vehicle sold as is)

Pickup / shipping:

  • I can arrange to meet the buyer in the West LA area to deliver the vehicle and complete the transaction
  • I can also help facilitate shipment (deliver to a local vehicle shipping point) for buyers that are not local (shipping is at buyer's expense)

Send me a me a message with any questions and to arrange to come see the car.  I reserve the right to end the auction early as I'm listing the vehicle locally as well.  Thanks for your interest.

BMW M4 vs. Lexus RC F in Head 2 Head sports coupe showdown

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

It's the showdown everyone's been looking forward to, the East versus West grudge match of the year. We're talking, of course, about the BMW M4 versus the Lexus RC F.
Although BMW uses a twin-turbo straight-six and the Lexus uses a free-breathing V8, the two are pretty closely matched on paper: a luxury coupe with over 400 horsepower channeled to the rear wheels.
The BMW has been doing these cars for longer, and the M4 boasts a higher power-to-weight ratio. But then the RC F has more power - and without forced induction to break up the rev range. So which is the better luxury muscle coupe? Watch the latest episode of Motor Trend Head 2 Head to find out.

BMW unleashes new M4 racer on DTM

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

We may not get to enjoy the fruits of it all, but we're in the midst of a golden age in touring car racing around the world. In Northern Europe, rival local series have amalgamated into the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. In the UK, the British Touring Car Championship is enjoying the largest and most diverse grid in its long history. In Australia, the V8 Supercars series has grown from a Holden vs. Ford battle to include challengers from Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo. And in Germany, the DTM championship has managed to lure BMW back onto the grid to open up the battle between Mercedes and Audi. All good things, in short.
Since returning to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2012, BMW has won the drivers' title once and the constructors' title twice, proving the Bavarian manufacturer to be not only a suitable challenger to the two-horse race between its star- and ring-emblazoned rivals, but the dominant force in German tin-top racing. Now BMW is set to enter its third season since returning to the DTM, and this is the car with which it intends to do so.
Replacing the M3 DTM that has impressively won half of the DTM races it has contested over the past two years, BMW's latest racing car is made in the mold of the new M4 coupe. Only it's even meaner. While the production version has switched to a turbo six, the DTM version still uses a V8: a 4.0-liter unit with four-valve cylinder heads, mandatory air restrictors and a Bosch ECU to channel 480 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the rear set of Hankook racing slicks through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The lightweight chassis is rounded out with competition-level aerodynamics and all the mandatory safety equipment.

2015 BMW 2 Series Cabriolet flips its lid [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Early next year, BMW will offer droptop versions of its entry-level 2 Series. Available in both 228i and M235i guise, the 2 Series Cabriolet will no doubt take everything we already like (and don't like) about the Twoer and add that wind-in-your-hair experience. Of course, taking in all the extra sun comes at a price - $37,900 for the 228i and $47,700 for the M235i, not including $950 for destination. Those prices represent increases of $5,800 and $4,600, respectively.
Powertrain specs are identical to the coupes, with the 228i powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The more potent M235i gets BMW's turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six, with 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of push, and can hit 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. That's with the eight-speed automatic transmission, which is available with either engine. And for those who prefer to row their own, BMW will thankfully offer a six-speed manual gearbox with both powerplants, as well.
Following the Paris Motor Show unveiling, the pair will be shown in the US at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November before hitting dealers a few months later. Have a look at the new droptop in our fresh batch of images live from the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, and read BMW's lengthy press blast, below, for all of the official information.
