Selling my M5 b/c I drive it too much.
No it's not the gas mileage (13.5mpg) or the cost I could care less. It's that this car is too awesome to be a daily driver and needs to go to a home where someone will drive it more sparingly. Of course if you buy it you do whatever you want with it. The reason I'm even saying this is so that it's understood upfront I have no reason to sell the car, I'm not in a rush and I can keep on driving it for years so please don't even think of low balling, tire kicking, or any other shenanigans. I don't need to sell it, I want to sell it. Anyone who knows these cars knows the basics....400hp hit the button it goes to 500hp. Basically there is an endless supply of horsepower in this car. There is a reason they "limit" these cars to 189mph....you'll never need to see that speed but knowing its there is fun. This particular M5 has a few extra goodies that were not standard in all of them...a few things to note: - Black leather interior - Heads up display - Wood trim all around - 14 way front seats - Power rear sunshade - Powder coated black OEM wheels - iPhone adapter..... yes you an use WAZE, Pandora, Spotify, etc. all through the stereo - Sirius XM Satellite radio subscription comes with the car Car is in amazing condition. Keep in mind it is 8 years old, minor road rash /chips, and interior wear should be expected. Overall extremely clean. I keep the car spotless. Car has been kept in a temperature controlled garage since I've had it. Have paperwork for synthetic oil change. Tires, brakes, etc. all in good condition. You will need tires every 15-20k on these cars. Tires probably have another 5k easily on them. A serious buyer will want his/her mechanic to look the car over and knows enough about them to skip the test drive. I'm happy to bring it to your mechanic and wait while he does the once over. You won't find anything wrong. If you want a passenger seat test-drive I'll meet you in a parking lot and you have cash in hand or no go! This is a true super car not for the feint of heart. I hate to see it go but a luxury cruising sedan is calling my name. Thanks |

2015 BMW X4
Tue, 27 May 2014BMW has been in the line-blurring business of late, with the original X5 "Sports Activity Vehicle" muddling the line between SUVs and sport sedans in 1999, the 5 Series Gran Turismo challenging what our definition of "Gran Turismo" means in 2009, and pretty, low-roofed four-doors like the 6 Series Gran Coupe and the fresh new 4 Series Gran Coupe broadening the meaning of the word "coupe."
In the midst of all of this, BMW blurred the lines around both the SUV and coupe genres with its big, heavy, and in many ways ridiculous X5-based "Sports Activity Coupe" (cue collective eye-roll), dubbed X6. Auto wags scoffed at its lack of utility, compromised outward visibility and added cost, but a more emotional public was apparently smitten enough by its aggressive looks to avail itself of some 250,000 of them worldwide in six model years on sale.
Enter the all-new 2015 X4 crossover - err, "Sports Activity Coupe" - which BMW hopes will perform as well in the compact category as the X6 has on the next rung up the ladder. Like the X6, the X4 is a tough sell on paper: it's more expensive and less practical than the X3 on which it's based; it's heavier, despite the loss of interior space; and it doesn't even hold as much stuff in the back as the 3 Series wagon. As with the X6, the X4 is essentially a high-riding style statement that, like proper coupes (the two-door kind), says to the world, "You fools can take your need for practicality and shove it. I just want to look good."
Volkswagen Group, BMW Z4 top Total Value Awards by Strategic Vision
Tue, 11 Dec 2012It was just nine months ago that Strategic Vision announced its 2011 Total Value Awards, but you don't have to wait until next year for the 2012 awards. The Volkswagen Group keeps its lead as the number one brand, with seven products taking top category spots: Golf, Jetta Wagon, CC, Eos and Audi A3 Wagon, Q5 and Q7. Strategic Vision says "true innovation" - "rich and impactful, intuitive, motivational, in-depth and is able to trigger description by the user in great specificity" - is the open secret of the brands with the strongest showings. Results are culled from 77,153 owners covering more than 350 new cars bought between September of 2011 and 2012 ranked in the Total Value Index (TVI).
Other notable winners are Hyundai-Kia following VW in the brand category and having the Hyundai Elantra and Kia Sorento among category winners, the BMW Z4 taking the premium roadster category and the highest overall score of any vehicle, the Chevrolet Volt continuing to gather silverware in the Special Category, nabbing the second-highest score of all and representative of "nearly perfect innovation," and Chrysler and Dodge being most improved.
Check out the press release below for your day's dose of jargon and all the winners.
BMW i3 misses top Euro safety rating [w/videos]
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The Euro NCAP just tested a recent batch of new cars including the 2014 BMW i3, and the EV Bimmer scored less-than-perfect results. Though not horrible, BMW's all-electric/range-extended i3 was given a four-star (out of five possible) crash rating due to concerns with front-occupant whiplash and side-impact protection.
Based on the crash results, the BMW provided suitable protection for occupants in the frontal, side barrier, pedestrian and child-seat tests, but the i3 was tripped up when it came to the more severe side pole test and the rear-impact test. The pole test showed protection to the chest of the test dummy was "weak," and the front seats only provided "marginal" protection against whiplash for front passengers. Scroll down to watch two videos released by the Euro NCAP of the i3 being tested.
