I have for sale one of the rarer models of the E34 M5, this is a 01/1993 production year which means it has the special factory bits like the Motorsport door handles, M Sport mirrors, full shadowline window trim and full black cloth headliner set.  I have a few other M5s and need to make room for an upcoming project.  I regret putting this up for sale since it is my all time favorite M5 and have poured a ton of money and love on the car to get it in perfect running condition.  I purchased this car earlier this year with the intent of making it a reliable daily driver, so I did a lot of work on the car to get it to the running condition its in.  I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country right now.  It is running absolutely brilliant.  At cruising speed of 80 mph at 5th gear, the car gets 25 mpg, that is 2 mpg better that the factory spec.  This just proves how finely tuned and well-maintained the car is.  All the electronics on the car work perfect with all the dash lights working.  The A/C is fully recharged and blows very cold, the fan blower works at every speed on the dial.  All interior and exterior lighting on the car works perfect as well.  The car currently has 227,000 miles and runs like a champ, mechanically is it completely sorted out.  All that remains to be fixed are mostly cosmetic items like the front seat leathers, miscellaneous dings, faded rear bumper and clear coat peel on the roof.  Brake pads and rotors were replaced prior to my ownership and still have plenty of life left.  The brakes works incredibly well.

Below is a list of all the work I've performed on the car since I've owned it.  All parts listed below have less than 2,000 miles on them:

Brand new radiator
Brand new thermostat
Brand new radiator and cooling hoses
Brand new fan clutch
Brand new drive belts
Brand new oil pan gasket
Brand new valve cover gasket kit
Brand new spark plugs

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer pulls its way onto the stage

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

We know what you might be thinking: here comes another BMW with yet another kind of roofline. Only this isn't just another BMW. It's the first front-drive BMW, and the first time we've ever seen it in person.
That model, of course, is the new 2 Series Active Tourer, debuting here in Geneva as the production version of the Concept Active Tourer and the beefier Concept Active Tourer Outdoor that followed. It shares about as much with the 2 Series Coupe as a jelly donut, but takes BMW into a new market segment - that of the high-roofed hatchback (or micro-minivan, depending on your perspective) occupied by the likes of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class and Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan.
Power comes from a choice of 1.5-liter turbo three, 2.0-liter turbo four or 2.0-liter turbodiesel - but aside from the forced-induction engines what they all the versions have in common is what makes the 2 Series Active Tourer newsworthy: they all sit up front, driving the front wheels. It's an idea BMW purists might not appreciate, but one we'd all better get used to just the same.

BMW takes 30th Anniversary Edition M5 out to drift

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

If you only look at the videos from BMW, it appears that the best way to celebrate the 30th birthday of the M5 is some smoky drifting, and it sure looks like a great way to mark the occasion to us. Now that the Bavarian brand's new 30th anniversary special edition is all set to hit the road, the most powerful M5 ever is getting it own chance to roast its tires on video, as well.
The M5 30th Anniversary Edition shouldn't have any problem hanging its rear end out, really. Under the hood, its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 is turned up to 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and can allegedly sprint to 60 miles per hour in a scant 3.7 seconds. That's pretty impressive for any sports car but especially for a sedan that can still carry four passengers comfortably cosseted in leather and Alcantara upholstery.
BMW is making just 300 of these celebratory models worldwide, and appropriately for the anniversary, only 30 of them are going to be available in the US. If the special M5 doesn't make your heart race, the video basks in a little nostalgia, as well, by showing off the original model for some historical context.

Watch a trio of Santas ride up Mulholland Drive

Wed, 25 Dec 2013

Santa Claus might have his eight reindeer - or nine, when it's foggy - to help him deliver presents in most parts of the world, but in southern California, it looks like he's traded up from Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and company to BMW, Yamaha and Ducati. RNickeyMouse is usually the place to check out spectacular motorcycle crashes on video along LA's Mulholland Drive, but a recent video caught a trio of Santas carving up the iconic, twisty road.
The three Santas are together, riding what appears to be a BMW S1000RR, Yamaha R1 and a hard-to-tell custom bike that could be a Ducati 1098. The video, which is posted below, also catches a bonus Santa riding solo on another S1000RR. Happy Christmas to all, and to all a cool bike!
