2005 Bmw M3 Coupe 2-door Competition Pkg Manual Dinan Exhaust / Software Black on 2040-cars

I am selling a mint condition 2005 BMW M3 Competition Package edition - the closest thing to a CSL you can get in the United States.

This is a pure 6-speed manual ultimate driving machine with direct mechanical steering that lets you feel the road through the Alcantara steering wheel unique on Competition Package models.  Unlike newer, heavier/ bigger/fatter models, the e46 M3 is light and nimble with a beautiful natrually-aspirated 333 BHP inline 6 engine.  Performance on this model is enhanced via the addition of a DINAN exhaust system coupled with a corresponding software upgrade.  The car sounds beautiful.  Additional competition package features include stunning 19" wheels (new OEM wheels installed last year), a "track" mode with less invasive traction control and ventilated brake rotors.

The car has been cared for like a child - always in a garage, with all maintenance done by high-end BMW shops.  The car has incredibly low mileage - just over 38,000 - and will make someone very happy.

The car is fully loaded and includes navigation, seat heating, bluetooth phone connectivity, on-board computer, automatic dual zone climate control, black leather seating, dual power seats with memory features, etc.

The interior is black leather with aluminum trip and is in great condition.  As mentioned, the Competition Package adds Alcantara to the steering wheel and parking brake lever.  Typical M car enhancements include aluminum door sills with M logo, M logo on the steering wheel (with contrasting stitching), M logos on the floor mats, M logos on the 19" OEM competition wheels and M logos in the seat headrests.

The car has never been in an accident and has a clean CARFAX.

This is a beautiful, pure sports car that can be driven daily, as a weekend treat or as a track workhorse.  I'm only parting with it as I recently purchased a new 911 c2s.  I will miss it dearly.

Will accept cash or money order.  Shipping not included.  Inspections to be arranged and paid for by buyer.

2015 BMW X4

Tue, 27 May 2014

BMW has been in the line-blurring business of late, with the original X5 "Sports Activity Vehicle" muddling the line between SUVs and sport sedans in 1999, the 5 Series Gran Turismo challenging what our definition of "Gran Turismo" means in 2009, and pretty, low-roofed four-doors like the 6 Series Gran Coupe and the fresh new 4 Series Gran Coupe broadening the meaning of the word "coupe."
In the midst of all of this, BMW blurred the lines around both the SUV and coupe genres with its big, heavy, and in many ways ridiculous X5-based "Sports Activity Coupe" (cue collective eye-roll), dubbed X6. Auto wags scoffed at its lack of utility, compromised outward visibility and added cost, but a more emotional public was apparently smitten enough by its aggressive looks to avail itself of some 250,000 of them worldwide in six model years on sale.
Enter the all-new 2015 X4 crossover - err, "Sports Activity Coupe" - which BMW hopes will perform as well in the compact category as the X6 has on the next rung up the ladder. Like the X6, the X4 is a tough sell on paper: it's more expensive and less practical than the X3 on which it's based; it's heavier, despite the loss of interior space; and it doesn't even hold as much stuff in the back as the 3 Series wagon. As with the X6, the X4 is essentially a high-riding style statement that, like proper coupes (the two-door kind), says to the world, "You fools can take your need for practicality and shove it. I just want to look good."

2016 BMW X5 M is big and bold, not beautiful

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Awesome as it is, the BMW X5 M has never really been an attractive machine. Big and bulgy are the themes here, and that's only more pronounced with the X5's most recent refresh. But no matter, the X5 M has never been about looks - for this machine, it's all about performance, and BMW's hi-po crossover absolutely delivers in this regard.
Under the hood is the familiar 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8, though power has been boosted to 567 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque - healthy increases of 12 and 53, respectively, compared to the outgoing model. Hitting 60 miles per hour is said to take just four seconds, which is damn impressive considering this thing weighs well over 5,000 pounds.
But the X5 M has always been shockingly good to drive, with limits you'll never reach except in the most hardcore track scenarios (which we'd really like to see, by the way). It's not the prettiest thing ever, but that's okay. It's not exactly cheap, though, with prices starting at $99,650. Woof.

BMW web sales plan opposed by German dealers

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Tesla isn't the only manufacturer that is facing a backlash over its plans to sell cars directly to customers. BMW is under fire from its German dealerships over its desire to sell its cars via the internet.
BMW has plans to sell the new i3 through the World Wide Web, while a "Mobile Sales Force" will be making house calls. According to Automotive News Europe, Head of German Sales Roland Krueger told German weekly Wirtschaftswoche, "We can imagine that Internet sales could be expanded to all models." This is the particular caveat that has traditional brick-and-mortar dealers so up in arms.
According to the head of BMW's German dealerships Werner Entenmann, "We told BMW in no uncertain terms that we cannot accept direct sales channels." Reuters reports that an anonymous dealer has gone so far as to pledge not to use the sales force in Germany. Krueger, for what it's worth, told Wirtschaftswoche that the "backbone" of BMW sales will still be traditional dealerships.
