1997 BMW 840Ci in mint condition with very low (2300/year) miles. Last year of the 840Ci model. This car is one of
658 sold in 1997. A grand total of 2450 8- series V8's were sold in the USA over four years. Only two model years
with stronger updated 4.4 liter Alusil motor. Original black paint in exceptional condition with tan Nappa leather
interior. Original M62 4.4 liter V8 and smooth ZF five speed automatic transmission. As fast as the V12 without the
maintenance or gas expense. Normal suspension not electronic EDC.
All of the minor issues common to the 8 series have been addressed including the following;
-MID display now in perfect shape with all pixels visible.
-Brand new BMW headlights including buckets and gas struts for headlight. This resolved tilt issue common to 8
series caused by broken adjusters. Fitted with bright 9011 bulbs. Lights are now better than new.
- Driver's side windows (they normally drop slightly when door is opened and raise upon closing) adjusted and lined
up perfectly by dealer along with replacement of window weather strip.

packaging. Comes with OEM BMW wheel locks.
Within last 200 miles, all filters (and fluids) were dealer replaced including power steering, engine, oil and AC
filters. New wipers installed on perfect original windshield. Both cam cover gaskets and timing cover gaskets
replaced by dealer to correct minor oil leak. Brake fluid completely flushed at dealer. Car has no fluid leaks of
any type. Engine runs perfectly. All electronics work properly. Original BMW radio with trunk mounted CD player.
Cup holders on glove box lid are as new.
Non smoker. AC ice cold and no known mechanical issues whatsoever.
Includes dozens of 840Ci road tests, magazines and books. All original manuals and keys including valet key. Comes
with car cover and battery tender tethered to the car under the front hood.
No accidents and clear NYS title. West coast car with no winter use. Front hood is excellent with no road rash or
stone chips. The car is entirely stock and original. The 840 was NYS inspected 200 miles ago including brakes,
suspension and steering

Formula Drift kicks off 11th season on Streets of Long Beach
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The 2014 Formula Drift series kicked off last weekend in Long Beach, and saw Chris Forsberg, who you'll recall went mad and drifted around a warehouse in an Infiniti M, take the title behind the wheel of his Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z (shown above).
Forsberg really ran away with the first round of competition, outscoring his closest opponent, second-place finisher Kenneth Moen and his Bridges Racing Nissan 240SX, by 20 points. Third place was 2013 championship winner Michael Essa and his Yokohama BMW M3, 30.5 points behind Forsberg.
In the manufacturers' title, Nissan took an early lead with 122 points, which isn't a huge surprise considering five of the top ten drifters were piloting either a Z or a product of the brand's S platform. Ford, which had two drivers (Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.) in the top ten, took home second place, while BMW is currently third in the manufacturers' standings.

The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is already an issue of large debate. The essential business case for the car is that it's more distinctive than a straight 5 or 6 Series, and has much of the sense of space and luxury of a 7 Series. It has the wheelbase of a 5 Series, the relative width of a 6 Series, and an exterior length close to the standard wheelbase 7 Series. And, as we reported in our drive of the 640i Gran Coupe in May 2012, the 6 Series Gran Coupe costs pretty much the same as the 7 Series, engine trim for engine trim. The sedan (coupe?) is therefore a proposal clearly meant for an extremely particular clientele. There's no news yet on how well exactly the 6 Series Gran Coupe is selling in its chief markets, but we are curious. The Germans frequently tend not to break out their sales figures that way, mixing sales of the Gran Coupe in with the two-door 6 Series.
And, so, we have now arrived at the inevitable point where the M version must be introduced. Say howdy to the $113,000 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe (actually $115,195 for starters with all of the taxes added). That's $4,650 more than the also highly priced M6 coupe. Let the vehement debates begin. The upcoming 2014 Audi RS7 should be priced right at this level as well, and the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG (perhaps with an S iteration in the next allotment we get Stateside) should go for roughly the same.
Audi leading rival BMW in worldwide luxury sales race
Tue, 11 Mar 2014If you thought competition among the German luxury automakers was hot before, it looks like things are just getting started. For the first two months of the year, Audi has sold more cars than BMW worldwide by just 383 cars.
Audi claims to have sold 242,400 vehicles through February, up 9.3 percent from last year, compared to 242,017 units from BMW, up 8.9 percent, in the same period. While the advantage is tiny, its implications could be huge because Bimmer has been the leader in the premium car segment for the last nine consecutive years. Mercedes-Benz lags behind them somewhat at 229,630 vehicles through February. According to Bloomberg, at this time last year Audi had sold 429 fewer cars than BMW.
The growth is all part of Volkswagen Group's goal to become the world's largest automaker. It currently ranks in second when its heavy truck businesses are considered. The German automotive giant also wants to be the world's leading premium carmaker. "Competition in the premium segment is more intense than ever," said Audi CEO Rupert Stadler to Bloomberg.
