I am selling my 1994 classic 8 cylinder roadster. Private sale. Clean title. Only 114K miles. Used only on the weekends for pleasure. All windows work. The tires have at least 90% thread left. Only full synthetic oil used. Original BMW wheels. The seats are in great condition. The driver seat has brand new leather on it. The car comes with all the books, original radio in case you want to replace the one on the car, 2 original keys, and all the maintenance records from BMW.
This is one of approximately 6000 BMW 840's imported into the US between 1991 and 1997 and who knows how many are left in this kind of condition.
The engine is exactly the one used on the 7 series so you do not have to worry about finding any parts for this car. Even if this car as it is, it does not need anything. It drives perfectly. Average MPG 18.
This car has all the extras including heated seats, driver and passenger airbags, sunroof and automatic transmission--this car was never abused. No leaks, no overheating, no warning lights on, no jerking. AC is cold, radio works. Everything works on this car. This car has been babied and during the last 3 years that I have owned it has never been in the snow or the rain. Florida car 100%. Rust free. No dents. Garage kept.
Routine maintenance has always been kept up with.
The original color was red but the car was painted 8 months ago and it looks very good.

BMW 2 Series Convertible goes for a drive in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013The BMW 2 Series is the car that will eventually replace the 1 Series here in the United States (remember: the 1 Series moniker will live on to describe the hatchback models in other markets), and while we've seen the new coupe out on the prowl, we're now seeing the droptop version out on the road. We don't have much information about the new 2er models, only that they are expected to bow sometime in 2014.
Dimensionally, the new 2 Series convertible looks very similar in size to its outgoing 1 Series kin, with things like the roofline and roof shape looking nearly identical. Of course, reworked front and rear fascias are immediately noticeable, and judging by what little we can see, it appears as though the small BMW will take many of its design cues from the larger 3 Series rather than the oft-awkward-looking 1 Series hatch that's currently available in Europe.
Assuming things are still on track for 2014, we won't rule out a possible debut in Geneva, though the Frankfurt expo in September makes even more sense.
2015 BMW i8 sets everyone's tongues wagging in Northern Michigan
Fri, 31 Oct 2014Like few other cars we can remember, people want to talk about the 2015 BMW i8. Drive one, and you'll soon find out what we mean. They stop you at gas stations. They accost you in Walgreen's parking lots. They stream out of neighborhood bars, beers in hand.
At least, that was our experience this week during Autoblog's Technology of the Year testing. We had the pleasure of driving the plug-in hybrid BMW sports car up to and around Petoskey, MI, a resort town where seeing such exotics is rare enough, let alone in the off season. It made for some interesting conversations - so we began writing down some of the comments the butterfly-doored coupe inspired. Here's a sampling:
"Wanna race for pinks? I'll go easy on you." - Acne-covered teenage pizza delivery driver in a sad-looking Ford Taurus parked at a Valero gas station near Grayling (which incidentally didn't actually have gas).
BMW M135i vs. Mercedes A45 AMG in Euro small-lux throwdown
Fri, 19 Jul 2013BMW and Mercedes-Benz - please, please, please bring the M135i and A45 AMG hatchbacks to North America. For as long as we can remember, buyers in the New World have been forced to look longingly at Europe and Great Britain and the excellent super hatches that are so routinely offered there. And while we're quite content with the Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen GTI, having a 360-horse five-door with a premium, content-rich interior sounds quite nice.
Our envy for Europe has grown after watching the latest video from Drive, which stars Chris Harris, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and the BMW M135i. This latest battle between MB and BMW takes place on both road and track, with Harris providing a running commentary. If you're interested in the upcoming Mercedes CLA45 AMG, you should pay special attention to the section on the A45, as the two are essentially fraternal twins. While the video is a bit on the long side, it provides a comprehensive rundown of both cars, giving those of us in North America just a small taste of what we're missing.
