Hi - Thanks for looking. First, I am very picky and will do my best to describe... I'm selling my 'fun" car which is seldom used.  This is a 1992 BMW 850i that I bought as a restoration project.  The car was perfectly straight to begin with and was a grat candidate to go through.  Since purchasing about two years ago I went through and did the following work...This should be one of the nicest cars being offeed for sale.

External:  New take-apart paint job in OEM Arctic Silver, Wheels were repainted as well, New tires.  I have both the OEM spoiler kit as well as an aftermarket "Dura-Flex" spoiler ($250).  Both spoilers are included and both were newly painted.  Your choice as to what look you want the car to have.  The rear deack has a very small "lip" spoile you can leave on or take off.  All wheel caps, front and rear hood embklems and seering wheel rondele have bn chnged from th white and blue to the black carbon look.

Drive Train: Replaced automatic transmission with newer unit obtained from reputable BMW dismantler in Northern Cailifornia (carries warranty) New AC compressor, New steering pump, brake system flush with New rotors and pads, New water pump with cooling system flush, replaced one throttle valve body, new fuel system pump (duel unit mounted in gas tank) with all new fuel hoses.  Turner Performance e-Proms are installed wth OEM proms included (very simple change)

Interior: Front seats were completely stripped to frame and rebuilt with new foam and OEM grey leather covers on all surfaces.  Rear seats were in fine shape.  They were removed from car and given a "re-spray" so that they perfectly matched the new fronts in th same OEM grey color.  I have seat covers on the fronts so as to protect at all times.  Dash, door panels and rear are all virtually perfect for a 21 year old car.  Headliner is almost new and was installed prior to my owning the car.  Stereo is a top of the line Kenwood receiver with all bells and whistles.  Windows are tinted.  Sunroof seal replaced at time of painting.  All windows work.  All carpets are in pristine shape.

Extras being included: Additional set of aftermarket wheels...These are new 19" all black wheels staggeed 8" in front and 9" in back.  Tires are 75% tread+ and are in great shape.  The front tiree may be one size too large for th vehicle and should be changes to a lower profile for added clearance.  Extra throttle body (issue), extra relays, coil over bump stops, front tie rod ends (were not needed).  Both OEM and aftermarket front spoiler.

Soooo....What does this car need?: Coin tray in drive door missing, small A/C leak in one of ther hoses/junctions, Interior cimate control rightside control...three three buttons tend to stick from time to time, front, pop up lights need some work as they don;t seem to be in sync. Also nee to source new spring stel "lid" retaining clips to hold the headlight covers in place.  Turn signal indicator may need relay replaced.

Please feel free to contact me.  Thx Gregg

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.

Are you a BMW M4 GTS track car in disguise?

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

BMW is always happy to extract a little bit more gumption out of its M cars, just look at the latest 30th anniversary M5 or even the earlier CSL variants of the M3 for proof. Now, It looks like we might be getting the first glimpse of an even hotter M4, and it's wearing very interesting livery.
Our spies recently shot this M4 that could preview a future GTS version. It's all done up in MotoGP decals, but that might just be a ruse. This car sports a camouflaged lower air dam and rear wing, but those parts don't appear to be from an actual series safety car. The chin spoiler seems larger, and the rear wing is completely different. You can also spot an obvious Recaro logo on the driver's seat in one of the photos. Plus, the BMW emblem is removed at the back.
The disguised changes and odd choice of decals make this prototype incredibly weird. A BMW exec said at the beginning of the year that there were "no plans whatsoever to make a lighter, harder version just yet," of the M3 or M4, despite earlier rumors to the contrary. Check out the gallery to see what you think this is.

BMW M2 reportedly green-lit

Thu, 01 May 2014

A BMW M2 is on the way, according to a sub-forum in the Bimmerpost empire. Of course, we're actively enjoying a few grains of salt, just to be safe, as the post doesn't mention explicit sources, saying only that "multiple inside sources (who have been accurate in the past)," have confirmed the car.
Provided the forum is correct, though, there's some juicy information here. Production is allegedly slated for late fall 2015, with deliveries likely starting in early 2016. The new sports coupe should arrive with 365 to 375 horsepower, courtesy of an upgraded version of BMW's N55 turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six.
The report claims BMW also considered a modified version of the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Mini Cooper S. That engine, known internally as the B48, would have been called the S48 for M2 duty, a significance that we're sure BMW purists would appreciate (the only BMW engine to wear an S designation was the four-cylinder from the legendary E30 M3).
