1992 Bmw 850i on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
This is my 3rd BMW 850i and this one has been my favorite!! Nothing beats the feeling of a strong V12 on a freeway or open 2 lane country road! 300 HP, 5 liter, V12, 2 seat, coupe, auto or sport shift with tons of electronic gadgets! I have replaced everything I could find on the car that could use refreshening! What ever you bid on the car, I have put into the car during the past two years!! I have all of the books, accessories, tools, CDs and extra set of wheels for the car! The car is "bone" stock except for a nicely tuned stainless muffler that allowes you to hear the roar of the V12 engine! Car has a K70 radar that needs to be turned on. I even have all of the original built in telephone equipment from 1992. The car was $90,000 in 1992 and still cruises with all of the luxury and power that it was born with. It is my daily driver, and I respect it and maintain it like it was my baby! Your turn! Enjoy this ride for a tenth of the new car price! It is getting ready to be a collectible V1211 Where else can you drive a V12 for under $10K?? Please email me with questions, but you may text me if you need to. please don't ask for my minimum price, or I will ask you for your maximum bid!! I have tried to restore this car back to new condition with the exception of detailing the creme leather interior. There is no damage to the interior just needs cleaning and a re dye and you will be looking brand new!!

BMW readying Spartanburg expansion for X7 production
Mon, 24 Mar 2014Prior to the debut of the original X5 in 1999, the idea of a BMW crossover might have seemed like heresy. But here we are, fifteen years removed from the Frank Stephenson-penned design, and the Bavarian automaker has expanded its crossover lineup to include the X1, X3, X4 and X6, and it's showing no sign of slowing down.
We recently reported that BMW is planning on slotting an X2 in at the bottom of the range between the X1 and X3, but now it's being widely reported that it's got an even larger one to put in at the top of its utility line. That, of course, would be the X7, a long-rumored three-row model that would give BMW a large family hauler to challenge the Mercedes-Benz GL.
According to The Wall Street Journal, BMW is expanding its assembly plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to accommodate production of the X7 alongside the X3, X4 and X5 that it already builds there for local consumption.
Next BMW X1 caught on flatbed
Tue, 17 Sep 2013The X1 had been around for four years before it was added to BMW's US lineup, so it isn't all that surprising that a new version of the company's smallest Sport Activity Vehicle is already in the works. Captured in transit on the back of a flatbed truck, these spy shots give us our first look at the next-gen X1 - codenamed F48 - which is expected to debut around 2015.
While the camouflage does a good job of obscuring most of the styling elements, we definitely see evidence of the X1's new platform. Elements like the loss of the long nose and a noticeably shrunken dash-axle gap (just compare this spy shot picture to this one from our X1 review), are good indicators that the next X1 will move to the new front-wheel-drive platform BMW is using for the new Mini and 1 Series GT. Aside from this, the overall shape is very similar to the current design, but we're sure it will pull many cues from the updated range of BMW products.
Six 'shut up and take my money' cars
Tue, 11 Nov 2014Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."
