For sale is my beautiful 1991 BMW 850i. This is one of my
personal cars. I am selling it to purchase more toys. It has a clean CarFax. I
have maintained this car very well. The recent maintenance includes the
following: Oil pan gasket, Oil change, Brand new tires, new hood shocks, power
steering hose and fluid, alignment. I have invoices for the maintenance during
my ownership. The car has been repainted at some point in its life. The
original color is the same color it is currently “Mauritiusblau Metallic”. There were very few
850’s ever made in this color and the fact that it is a 6 speed manual and only
has 72k miles makes it quite the rare collectible vehicle. You will be hard
pressed to ever find an 8 series like this ever again.
The engine and transmission are in superb condition. It has
never broken down on me and the motor runs strong and smooth with no strange
noises or issues and it accelerates without hesitation. The transmission shifts
smoothly with no grinding or issues. The clutch has been replaced at some
point. The pedal feels very fresh and grabs every gear properly.
Overall I would rate the condition of the exterior an 8/10
because of a few imperfections I have stated in the disclosures section but
mostly good with no clear coat oxidation . I would rate the interior 9.5/10 due
to its superb condition and overall cleanliness. There is slight wear in the
shift knob but that would be the only imperfection in the interior.
If I find something wrong with the vehicle, I disclose it. If
you have any questions or would like to see the car in person please contact
me, Bob H, directly at (949) 521-1961 (my cellular phone), or you can message me. I answer at all hours and am always on-call. If you would like
to come by please give me a call and I would be glad to arrange an appointment
and provide directions.
Disclosures: Front bumper could use a slight adjustment to
be perfect. Small ding on rear driver side quarter panel. Minor crack in
passenger side tail light. Sunroof is inoperable; upon inspection it seems to
need a new cable. (All cosmetic
imperfections stated are pictured in the album.)

BMW X4 tunes up its crossover game in Germany
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Except for the fancy wheels and the overly expressive fascias, the production version of the BMW X4 looks like it will carry over practically untouched from what we saw in the X4 Concept several months back. With the same fastback roofline as the concept, these spy shots show that the X4 is taking shape to be a baby version of the BMW X6.
Sharing the same platform as the X3, the lower and wider X4 will be positioned slightly more upmarket - as is the case with the X5 and X6. We hear that this could mean that the X4 will ditch the X3's base engine to give an even sportier feel right out of the gate, but word has it that an M version will being showing up down the road as well.
BMW has already revealed what it plans to show off at the Frankfurt Motor Show (i3, 4 Series Coupe, next-gen X5, refreshed 5 Series, X5 Concept eDrive plug-in hybrid and Concept Active Tourer Outdoor), so barring any surprised we definitely won't be seeing the X4 there. At this point, with as close to production as these images would have us believe, our best guess would be that we'll see the X4's official unveiling happen either at LA or Detroit.
BMW takes 30th Anniversary Edition M5 out to drift
Thu, 04 Sep 2014If you only look at the videos from BMW, it appears that the best way to celebrate the 30th birthday of the M5 is some smoky drifting, and it sure looks like a great way to mark the occasion to us. Now that the Bavarian brand's new 30th anniversary special edition is all set to hit the road, the most powerful M5 ever is getting it own chance to roast its tires on video, as well.
The M5 30th Anniversary Edition shouldn't have any problem hanging its rear end out, really. Under the hood, its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 is turned up to 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and can allegedly sprint to 60 miles per hour in a scant 3.7 seconds. That's pretty impressive for any sports car but especially for a sedan that can still carry four passengers comfortably cosseted in leather and Alcantara upholstery.
BMW is making just 300 of these celebratory models worldwide, and appropriately for the anniversary, only 30 of them are going to be available in the US. If the special M5 doesn't make your heart race, the video basks in a little nostalgia, as well, by showing off the original model for some historical context.
BMW preparing two concepts for Villa d'Este
Thu, 20 Mar 2014Every spring, the finest automobiles ever to grace tarmac gather on the shores of Lake Como for the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. It's a chance for the most beautiful classics to compete for awards and for automakers and design studios to show off their concept cars under the soft light of the Italian sun. But while most of the vehicles old and new that show up for the concours are ones we've seen before, BMW takes things a step further.
As patron of the concorso d'eleganza for the past ten years, BMW regularly cooks up something new for the glamorous extravaganza. Last year it teamed up with Pininfarina for the Gran Lusso Coupé and revealed it alongside the Concept 90 motorcycle. The year before that came the BMW Zagato Coupe, preceded by the 328 Hommage and the M1 Hommage (pictured above) before it.
The theme for this year's event is the Roaring Twenties. BMW may not have been known back then on the same level as Bugatti or Duesenberg, but Rolls-Royce sure was.
