1997 BMW 740 740IL Black, for Parts or Project

Product Descriptions:

1997 BMW 740IL extended long body luxury sedan;
The vehicle has been idle for 2 years. It does not run, for parts only. Or for your project to restore it;
The odometer reading is around 175,000 miles. Will update with accurate reading;
Clear title, no lien;
Located in central New Jersey, in greater Princeton area.

Working parts:

Engine is good;
Transmission is excellent;
All electronics works;
Body metal is excellent, no rust;
All glass good;
Brakes are good, but somehow rusted;
BBS black-powdered racing wheels. Mounted with 255/50 R17 tires;
Spare stock chrome BMW wheel, mounted with 235/60 R16 tire. Missing the center plastic cover;
All leather seats are good, no tears or other defects.

The set of 5 wheels will be probably worth abut $1,000.

Defects:

Vehicle does not run because of the long idle time;
Battery is drained;
All 5 tires are worn;
Driver side power windows motor does not work;
Some plastic light covers are cracked.

Shipping and Pickup:

$500 deposit within 24 hours from the end of the auction. Remainder paid with cash at pick-up time;
Pick-up (towed) within 2 weeks from the end of the auction;
Local buyer granted one time vehicle inspection prior to the end of the auction;
Sale is final, no return;
Title will be transfered at time of pick-up.

A BMW M2 is on the way, according to a sub-forum in the Bimmerpost empire. Of course, we're actively enjoying a few grains of salt, just to be safe, as the post doesn't mention explicit sources, saying only that "multiple inside sources (who have been accurate in the past)," have confirmed the car.
Provided the forum is correct, though, there's some juicy information here. Production is allegedly slated for late fall 2015, with deliveries likely starting in early 2016. The new sports coupe should arrive with 365 to 375 horsepower, courtesy of an upgraded version of BMW's N55 turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six.
The report claims BMW also considered a modified version of the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Mini Cooper S. That engine, known internally as the B48, would have been called the S48 for M2 duty, a significance that we're sure BMW purists would appreciate (the only BMW engine to wear an S designation was the four-cylinder from the legendary E30 M3).

BMW makes X7 in Spartanburg official

BMW has made it official - there will be a flagship crossover called X7, and it will be built right here in the US of A. The announcement was made today, confirming rumors of the new model at the Spartanburg, SC factory that broke earlier this week.
"Plant Spartanburg was built to enhance and expand the BMW lineup, underscoring the BMW Group commitment to the United States" said Dr. Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the BMW board of management in a statement. "In addition to the X3, X5, X6, and the new X4, we are today announcing another all-new, larger X model to be manufactured exclusively at this plant for our world markets: the X7."
BMW will spend $1 billion by 2016 upgrading its South Carolina factory, which already produces the X3, X5 and X6. The plant is currently capable of producing 300,000 units per year, but with the big investment from BMW, capacity will climb to 450,000 units. 800 jobs will be added as a result of the investment and new and upcoming models.

BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition is so cool it's Frozen

The new, one-of-a-kind BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition made a ritzy debut last night at BMW's private villa, giving the media its first chance to look at the ultra-exclusive hybrid.
As we said in our previous post, the most notable feature of the Concours d'Elegance i8 is its matte grey paint, known as Frozen Grey Metallic in BMW parlance. This isn't the first time we've seen this shade on an exclusive BMW, as it was last used for the Frozen Grey M3 from 2010.
Contrasting quite nicely with the i8's flat paint are its blue and white accents, and its Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery. Blue contrast stitching complements the interior aesthetic, as do the embossed BMW roundels in the headrests.
