I will try to be as honest and as candid as possible so that you can get a better picture and understanding of the condition of the car. As you can see by the pictures that I have provided, the car is in really great shape for almost a 20 year old car but it is not PERFECT. This is still my daily driver and use it every day. I purchased the car about 14 years ago so technically I am the second owner. Cosmetically the car is in great shape but it does have a few minor flaws that can easily be fixed. The front black "Molding" in the front of the “bumper” is about 18 inches long has a little discoloration. ($99.95). The interior matts are also original and could also use a replacement. ($114.95) for the set. The front driver’s seat has a small tear which just recently became noticeable. Should you wish to replace the seat covers ($229.00). I recently replaced the brakes and have less than 5K miles, tires are excellent shape. More info available on request."

Thank you for your interest and for responding to the add. I will try to be as honest and as candid as possible so that you can get a better picture and understanding of the condition and reason for me selling the car. As you can see by the pictures that I have provided, the car is in really great shape for almost a 20 year old car.

This is still my daily driver and drive it every day. I currently have 3 cars and have a 3 car garage and honestly that is not enough room for 3 cars, a couple of work benches, tool box, 4 bikes, and all the other "junk" commonly found in a garage. With 2 children I actually need a 4 or 5 car garage to be comfortable.

I purchased the car about 14 years ago so technically I am the second owner. When I purchased it, I believe it had 73K miles on it. I had been looking for this car with this particular color scheme for a long time and had always wanted the white with black trim.

Cosmetically the car is in great shape but it does have a few minor flaws that can easily be fixed. The front black "Molding" in the front of the “bumper” is about 18 inches long has a little discoloration and could probably be changed ($99.95). The interior matts are also original and could also use a replacement. You can get them for ($114.95) for the set and should you wish to get them customized they are ($139.95). The rear left passenger door window comes with two shades. The smaller of the two shades has a worn spring. If you wanted to replace it the cost is ($190.95). The front driver’s seat has a small tear which just recently became noticeable. Should you wish to replace the seat covers they are ($229.00). The driver side Fog light recently cracked, not very noticeable but I would replace it if I keep it. The cost for the fog light is ($116.95).

I recently replaced the brakes so they have approximately 5K miles on them. The tires are in great condition with plenty of thread on them. I replaced the rims when I first purchased the car because I did not like the original rims that have a "Mesh" look and they were also difficult to keep clean.

The rear shade that comes up and down stopped working and honestly I never used it in the down position so I never really cared to check if possibly the fuse might have to be replaced. The same thing with the "Park Assist Sensors" this car comes with front and back sensors that make a "Beep" noise if the car gets too close to a curb or another car. They stopped working a while ago and at first I thought it was pretty cool to have them but they became a nuisance after a while. When they stopped working I didn't bother to figure out why.

The rear trunk door "Shocks" that hold the door up could also use a replacement. It requires 2 of them and they are ($92.00) for the pair. They are the original ones and after almost 20 years I think they have had enough. It is a heavy door but then again all the doors on this car are heavy. The 740iL is really a "Tank". The rear seats are very comfortable and have plenty of room.

If you like to "Ski" it has a compartment to carry your "skis" in. It also comes with its own "First Aid kit". It also has a compartment on the "trunk door" that carries some basic BMW tools should you ever need them. It has a "Pioneer" 6 CD changer in the back.

The Trunk is big enough to fit two people and all of your groceries.  :)

The phone also works and I used it until the smart phones took over the world. You can probably still activate it should you wish to do so. The "High Beams" stopped working about a year ago so that might be an electrical issue or a possible fuse as well. The windshield has a very minor "chip" on the passenger side that has been there for about 7 years. It never expanded and has never been an issue so I didn't want to spend the money for a new windshield if I didn't need it. After 7 years I don't think it will ever get any bigger so probably nothing to worry about.

Honestly I love the car and even to this day I still get many compliments. I try to keep it as you see in the pictures because when the car is clean it really is a "head turner".

It has been a very reliable and fun car for me and when you can get a car that originally cost 70K for 5K in this condition; I think that is a pretty good deal.

The car is not in the perfect condition it once was but should you decide to make the repairs and address the issues I have mentioned, I think you will really enjoy the car for years to come and fall in love with German cars as I have.

Let me know should you have any other questions issues or concerns and I will be happy address them. I can send you additional pictures as well and if you feel more comfortable talking on the phone please feel free to call me @ 717-575-5882.

This is the final BMW M3 Coupe

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Pour some out for the BMW M3 Coupe, folks. Production of the two-door, fixed-roof M3 has officially ended, and the orange car you see here is the very last one.
But we don't just meant the last M3 Coupe of this generation - this is the last M3 Coupe ever, since the next-gen car will launch under the name M4, staying true to BMW's revised nomenclature where coupes and convertibles will use even numbers. (Don't forget, the new 3 Series coupe becomes the 4 Series for the 2014 model year.) There will, of course, be a new M3, but that badge will only be found on the four-door version.
BMW first launched the M3 Coupe in 1986, and since then, more than 40,000 examples have been built. Sedan and convertible versions were added later in the car's life, and BMW says that the current 2013 model year convertible will remain in production until September of this year.

BMW i3 gets official worldwide

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Even though we recently drove a near-production version of the BMW i3, the car still wore light exterior and interior camouflage. Today, BMW took off that little bit of camo and made a big announcement: The i3 will go on sale in the US for $41,350 in the second quarter of 2014. That does not include any state or federal incentives that could lower the price or the $925 destination fee. The i3 will debut with three trim levels, which BMW is referring to as Worlds: Mega (standard in the US), Giga and Tera.
The BMW i3 is chock-full of new technology afforded by its design as an EV from the start of development, which has resulted in a vehicle layout unique to the i3. BMW has named it LifeDrive architecture, and it features the Life Module and the Drive Module. The Life Module is the i3's pillar-less passenger cell, which is the first mass-produced monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The tougher-than-steel material is also 30-percent lighter than aluminum, which contributes to the i3's relatively light weight of 2,700 pounds (preliminary US figure) and, in turn, increases its energy efficiency. Expect more of this technology to find its way into future BMWs.
The Drive Module, a 100-percent aluminum chassis mounted under the Life Module, houses everything that makes the i3 go. It includes the 22-kilowatt, 450-pound lithium ion battery mounted as centrally as possible, and provides power to a rear-mounted electric motor that turns the rear wheels. With 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque from zero rpm, the single-gear i3 can accelerate from 0-30 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and 0-60 mph in about 7.0 seconds, but it has a top speed of only 93 mph. BMW says the i3 has a real-world EV range of 80-100 miles, and the standard charger can fill the battery in three hours. Opt for the SAE DC Combo Fast Charger and 30 minutes is all it takes for a full charge; 20 minutes will bump the battery to 80 percent. For customers who have range anxiety, BMW gives them the option to install a 34-hp, 650cc two-cylinder generator as a range extender for the electric drive system.

Are you the 2016 BMW M2?

Wed, 21 May 2014

From the looks of these spy shots, BMW is back testing the hotter version of the M235i, the M2. We first brought you pictures of the lightly disguised coupe a few weeks back. While those original shots were on the road, it would seem that BMW has transitioned its testing to the Nürburgring.
Here, we get a better look at the M2 prototype's M-spec wheels. This particular car is missing the traditional quadruple exhausts that serve as an easy identifier for BMW M products, although our spies report that the tips, along with a more assertive front fascia, will arrive when the M2 makes its production debut.
We can't yet confirm any powertrain details, but previous rumors had the M2 getting its go from a tuned version of the brand's N55 turbocharged inline-six. Take a look up top for this latest round of spy photos of the BMW M2.
