This is a very clean, well kept, grey market 1985 BMW 745i executive sedan. It features a 3.4L inline-6 turbo motor.

This was the best BMW had to offer in '85. This one has the extended leather option which included the entire door panels, the lower dash, and center console in brown buffalo leather (excellent shape).

Front AND rear seats are electrically adjustable and heated.

Exterior is in near excellent shape, although there is a noticeable scratch on the hood and a couple of other little dings.

Headlights have washers and wipers. Windshield wipers are new.

Front AND rear fog lights.

Wheels are two-piece 16x8 BBS RS's with bronze centers and brushed aluminum lip. Tires have plenty of tread left.

70K original miles!

This car was sold in a car auction a little over a year ago. I have little history on the car since I acquired it through a trade, and all of that was lost once the car went through the auction. I do have the original owner's manual which was in the glove box. The original owner had many gizmos added to the car such as premium speakers, in-dash CD-player, radar detector, electric rear sun shade, and a custom pin-stripe with his initials on the doors: "LRA".

There are a few items that need some attention:

The driver's door lock turns by key but will not open door. Trunk and passenger side work fine.

The rear sway bar links are broken, but I will most likely replace those by the end of this auction.

The original gauge cluster has stopped counting (during my ownership) and has been replaced with one from a car with 122k miles. unfortunately this one, too, does not count. I tried to fix the original one, and after being unsuccessful, left the replacement one in. I still have the original one to show the mileage.

I drive the car one or twice a week to keep it rolling, but it is not my daily driver. It rides smooth and quiet. No issues, no suspicious noises or vibrations.

The car has a CLEAR Georgia title.

BMW-Toyota joint sports car project is on like Donkey Kong

It's official - there will be a jointly developed sports car from BMW and Toyota. While the two auto giants signed a Memorandum of Understanding that pledged to pursue "joint development of architecture and components for a future sports vehicle" back in June of 2012, in the interim, it has remained unclear how those plans had been progressing. BMW has finally officially confirmed that the German and Japanese manufacturers will be codeveloping a pair of sports cars in addition to pursuing other disciplines including fuel cell systems and lightweight technologies.
"We have agreed on a joint architecture for a sports car. What is important is that there will be two different vehicles that are authentic to the two brands," BMW Development Chief Herbert Diess told Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Reuters is reporting. This is a very, very big step for both brands, but now the speculation can officially begin as to what the products of this agreement will look like.
There's ample reason to believe that the BMW-Toyota tie up will result in a Supra successor based on comments made by the chief engineer of the GT86/FR-S program, Tatsuya Tada, back in August. Follow that with a rumor from earlier this month that Toyota could debut a Supra concept car at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show later this month, and we could be seeing the fruits of this partnership sooner rather than later.

BMW may keep next 1 Series out of the US

As BMW prepares to introduce the all-new 2 Series coupe and convertible, the 1 Series name definitely won't be going away. We know new sedan and hatchback models are in the works; including the GT shown above. According to Car and Driver, though, the future of the 1 Series nameplate in the US could be dependent on rival premium small cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and Audi A3.
In an interview with C/D, BMW's North American head of product planning and strategy, Paul Ferraiolo, said that pricing might be the biggest deterrent to offering the third-gen 1 Series in the US. As he points out, BMW currently prices the 1 not too far from the 3 Series, but Mercedes-Benz and Audi will have their new small cars priced well below the $30,000 mark. BMW's Mini brand will also factor into the consideration since the 1 GT will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Cooper lineup.

GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
