I am selling off some of my BMW collection.This 1982 745i is a rare car ineed.A production run of a little over 15000 spread over a few years and the fact that they were never sold in the US by BMW makes this turbo model hard to find.Every 745 in this country has been imported by a gearhead-enthusiast-investor-carflipper.This particular one was imported By bmw autocenter inc.The car still sports the cool euro back bumper,the front one as well as the speedometer have been changed.There is no way of knowing how many miles are on this sedan,it shows 85098 miles.Carfax probably won't recognize the vin which is WBAFJ4106B7534088.The car runs and drives well without weird noises or clunky shifts.The interior is nice,it has black leather seats that are soft and supple[I have been told it is water buffalo but I am not shure,probably would have to shave a water buffalo to find out]The dash with the exception of the odometer is still in german which explains some of the quirky options like manual! seats,front power windows but rear roll up ones.The prior owner retro fitted a cruise control it did not have one from the factory.An aftermarket radio has been installed.All glass is good with the exception of the rear glass which has a small crack.A replacement is included in the sale.The dash has received a cap at some point.The silver blue paint has gravel marks and age related scratches and chips.It would fresh paint to be show worthy.The tires are good with a lot of thread left,the 14 inch wheels are free of curbrash.For inspections and questions please call 214/707 9525.I am a licensed texas dealer, so texas residents have to pay tt+l fees on top of the price.

BMW hires Ferrari chief engineer Fedeli
Wed, 08 Oct 2014There's going to be a little bit more Prancing Horse in some future BMWs because the Bavarian brand is hiring Ferrari chief engineer Roberto Fedeli to join the company in November. Fedeli's new position is still somewhat of a mystery though, and he reportedly might be lending his talents to the high performance M division or possibly even Rolls-Royce. When asked by Automotive News Europe, BMW said that it "currently can't say what his role will be."
Regardless of his new job, Fedeli was a big get for BMW because of his strong résumé. He has been with Ferrari since 1988 and led the engineering for the famous Italian automaker's vehicles since 2007. Fedeli tendered his resignation in September at around the same time that chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced his decision to leave the company. However, Ferrari told ANE that there was no connection between the two events.
Next BMW X6 to be larger, more aggressive
Tue, 16 Apr 2013If the current BMW X6, introduced in 2008, is looking a bit too bland for your tastes, have no fear as the next-generation model is reportedly going to be larger and more aggressive than its predecessor.
Autocar is reporting that an insider has revealed the all-new second-generation X6 will make its world debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, going on sale just after summer. More aggressive styling will help BMW distinguish its sportier X6 from BMW's more practical models, such as the X3 and X5, said the source.
The next X6 will again share platforms with the X5, but it will be stretched slightly to provide second-row passengers with more legroom. Powerplants will also likely mirror those of its mainstream cousin, including a range of turbocharged six- and eight-cylinder engines and a range-topping M model (the 2013 BMW X6 M is show above).
Auto execs surveyed say VW, BMW most likely to grow
Thu, 17 Jan 2013A new survey of top global automotive executives indicates both Volkswagen and BMW are the most likely to grow their market share over the next five years.
Tax advisory firm KPMG LLP has released its 14th annual Global Automotive Executive Survey, which includes responses from over 200 executives. A total of 81 percent of respondents said they expect to see Volkswagen make gains, compared to 70 percent last year. BMW, meanwhile, saw 70 percent of those surveyed say they believe the company will increase its market share. That's a jump of 7 percentage points over last year. This is the first time in the history of the survey that BMW has claimed the second-place spot.
Meanwhile, Hyundai has seen its perceived market share potential slacken for the third year in a row. Around 61 percent of those surveyed predicted gains for Hyundai, down from 63 in 2012. Toyota also has a surprising year, but for just the opposite reason. While the manufacturer had slipped in ranking since 2011, it enjoyed the largest increase of any company in the 2013 survey, jumping to 68 percent from 44 percent last year.
