This car is an incredible find and a fantastic buy.
The average car of this age has over 100k miles – this car only has 63k. I purchased a bigger car for my family. So I'm ready to sell it to the right buyer. It has a score of 94 from AutoCheck by Experian. According to Edmunds, “If you've got the bucks to spend, this is unequivocally the best car in the entry-luxury category.”

With very low mileage, it's in excellent mechanical condition.
It has extremely low mileage at less than 63k. It has never been in an accident. It has caused me zero problems and drives beautifully as all BMWs do. It is the top-of-the-line 3 series from the year it was built. A comprehensive service was done less than 1,000 miles ago, so the car will need no service for a long time.

It was Certified Pre-Owned directly from BMW.
Every detail of the car was inspected and certified by a BMW technician before I purchased it. Before that, there was only one owner before me, who had leased the car - so he treated it perfectly. I had a completely brand new brake system put in by BMW a few years ago (which was covered under the Certified Pre-Owned warranty).

This beautiful car is in amazing cosmetic condition.
It is loaded with top-of-the-line premium options - such as the sport package and the heated seats of the cold weather package. It's always been in a garage. It has never been in any collisions.

The car is priced to sell now with a low reserve.
I don't want to hassle anyone and I don't want to be hassled. I know this is car is an excellent find, and I'm very transparent with all the information on it. I'm looking for someone who clearly knows this car is what they want.

The Kelley Blue Book value for a private sale of a car with this mileage, condition, and options is between $16,353 and $16,803. Because of the fact that I barely drive it anymore, I am comfortable letting it for far less.

Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.

BMW offering Track Handling Package for 2 Series

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

After getting a chance to drive the BMW M235i earlier this year, we mentioned our regret at not being able to sample the lighter and less powerful 228i Coupe. We'd like to have seen how close the latter could get to the former, noting that "there's a lot of room for upgrades with the $11,000 retail difference." BMW is closing that performance gap slightly, announcing that a Track Handling Package will join the options sheet for the 2015 228i Coupe.
The group bolts on Variable Sport Steering, Adaptive M Suspension and M Sport Brakes behind new 18-inch lightweight wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no change to the 240-horsepower four-cylinder, but a coupe so equipped should be able to do plenty more with the horses it has thanks to a faster steering rack, sharper handling due to additional sensors and a ten-millimeter drop in ride height, and larger brakes and discs.
BMW has used the New York Auto Show as a venue to introduce the new Track Handling Package, and it will roll onto showroom floors in July and pricing will be announced sometime between now and then. Takers can get it with both the six-speed manual and eight-speed Sport Automatic, see it in the high-res image gallery above, and read about it in the press release below.

Watch man destroy his M6 'lemon' with a sledgehammer and ax

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Just to be clear, the owner of this BMW M6 isn't ready for another one. He and his friend destroyed the V10-powered coupe in anger at the entrance to the Frankfurt Motor Show in a decidedly public fashion. Bild and GT Spirit report that the owner was angry over mysterious quality and reliability issues that he claims BMW wasn't able to fix. What we have here, folks, is claimed to be a very expensive lemon.
As the story goes, owner Pourmohseni Hadi bought the 2007 M6 in 2008, and five years later, he is still complaining about mysterious vibrations, rattles and severe jolts during gear changes - the latter he says have caused passengers to become nauseous. The car was taken to several BMW repair shops in Italy and Hadi says he he has written a letter to the automaker about his issues, but the car was never fixed and the letter unanswered, he claims. What we don't know is how many miles the car has been driven and when all these problems started happening. The situation reminds us of a certain Lamborghini Gallardo from a couple years back.
While we understand Hadi's frustration, perhaps an M6 just doesn't suit his tastes. After all, we'd be lying if we said a perfectly functioning M6 of this generation wasn't bumpy over uneven surfaces and wouldn't make some passengers nauseous, with its stiffly sprung suspension and dizzying 500-horsepower V10. Anyone wanna bet his M6 was equipped with one of BMW's notoriously abrupt SMG single-clutch gearboxes?
