Incredibly Clean, Well-cared For 2007 Bmw 328xi on 2040-cars

Beautiful 2007 BMW 328xi ! Unique color combinations of silver exterior, combination black/red interior.
This car has been incredibly well cared for and is in better shape than other 2 year old cars I've been in. Has both sport and winter package. For a 7 year old car, the mileage is quite low. Has run flat tires so you're never in danger of being stuck on the side of the road. All service up to date, and performed on time. Drives like a race car - she is FAST! Very tight steering. Great sound system, whether at low volume or blasting. Leather is in great condition and shows no rub marks, wear, or discoloration. Floor mats are like new. Everything in the back seat effectively is new, as passengers have never ridden in the back. WHAT'S NOT PERFECT? See the last five pictures, which attempt to show visually what is described in this paragraph. Very little isn't perfect with this car! Like any car with several thousand-plus miles, there are tiny chips in the paint on the front of the hood from road debris strikes (not visible unless looking very closely). One scratch on the hood (see photo where an iphone is sitting to the right of the scratch - not in good focus). Like all BMWs I've owned, the Texas heat takes a toll on the plastic (?) finishing material used on the arm rests and steering wheel. It starts to peel over time. That's happening here. The most noticeable imperfection was a small backing-up error which resulted in a scratch on rear driver-side bumper. There is also minor damage to the rear passenger-side bumper. Except for these minor spots on the rear bumper, the car has no discernible exterior imperfections unless looking up close (e.g. a couple feet away). Very clean exterior. SEE MY FEEDBACK. Note in some of the photos, e.g. the rear seats taken from passenger side, the photo's color isn't true as the red looks a little washed out/orange. BMW shows up-armored X5 concept and we can't get near it
Wed, 11 Sep 2013BMW has brought a slightly different concept vehicle to the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Rather than something that foreshadows a future product or a new design direction, the Munich-based manufacturer has brought an X5 that's designed to be shot at. It's called the Concept X5 Security Plus. The Concept X5 name is a bit misleading, though. It's based on the 2014 X5, while BMW already builds an armored CUV, called the X5 Security. The concept tag has to do with the "Security Plus" part.
Engineered to be compliant with VR6 security standards - the current X5 Security is for VR4 standards - the Concept X5 will quite happily shrug off direct attacks from an AK-47. Thanks to sealed joints, high-strength steel moldings, high-performance steel body panels and special, polycarbonate-coated security glass, Kalashnikov's finest, whether used as a firearm or as a melee weapon, would be useless against this X5.
Built alongside the standard X5 in BMW's Spartanburg, SC factory, the X5 is shipped to a BMW facility in Toluca, Mexico for installation of the armor and security features. The company claims this delivers a more thoroughly engineered protective solution than aftermarket retrofitting.
2013 BMW R1200GS and HP4 duel at Circuito de Almeria
Wed, 05 Jun 2013The 2013 BMW HP4 is the track-ready version of the manufacturer's already mighty S1000RR, which puts the bike at the very tip top of the two-wheeled BMW food chain. The R1200GS, meanwhile, is intended to be a somewhat more utilitarian machine. Capable of conveying both rider and gear over vast distances and uncertain terrain, the big-boy GS is the Swiss army knife to the HP4's rapier. Or at least that's what we've always been led to believe. BMW recently rolled out some footage during a press launch that showed the R1200GS is actually no slouch when it comes time to sling around a road course.
The company threw both bikes on Spain's Circuito de Almeria for a little sparring match, and miraculously, the HP4 didn't just up and walk away from the R1200GS. From from it. Instead, the two stay tightly matched through most of the course before something surprising happens. We won't spoil the ending for you. Is it possible the rider on the HP4 still had some in reserve? Sure, but from the sound and look of things, neither bike was giving an inch. Check out all the video action below for yourself.
Husqvarna sold to KTM CEO Stefan Pierer
Fri, 01 Feb 2013A couple of days ago the UK's Motorcycle News reported that BMW was in the final stages of selling Husqvarna to KTM, with a deal potentially confirmed as soon as this week. Following that came reports that Husqvarna Motorcycles wasn't sold to KTM but to a Pierer Industries, the company owned by KTM CEO Stefan Pierer. Turns out the advance report was true, as was the follow-up: BMW has just announced a "strategic realignment" of its Motorrad division, explaining that it sold Husqvarna to Pierer Industries in order to focus on the urban and e-mobility segments. Husqvarna's off-road machines, obviously, don't fit into those categories.
BMW bought the Italian-based bike maker with centuries-old Swedish roots in 2007 - the rest of the Husqvarna company remains based in Sweden - and has invested huge sums to integrate the smaller company into the larger parent. Six years later, just when dividends should begin to truly pay off, the brand is sold.
Before BMW made its announcement, one of the theories that forum members put forward for Pierer's interest in purchasing Husqvarna was that he wants his own business to run his own way. The parent company of KTM, Cross Industries, is 47.27-percent owned by India's Bajaj Automotive, with Pierer the majority shareholder, and is on a quest for global growth, taking the fight to BMW in Europe and launching new bikes and technology into the Indian market. Compared to BMW's and KTM's 2012 sales of around 100,000 bikes each in 2012, Husqvarna sold 10,751 bikes, which was a 15.7-percent increase over the previous year. Pierer would have a lot more freedom in the running of a company of that size.
