Up for sale is a 1992 BMW 325IS made to look like a M3 with body kit. Has all the badges, most emblems, interior and including the instrument panel to look like a M3. But let just say it is a 325. There is NO motor, transmission or wiring. This car was put together to be a street car some time back in 2003 or before in Tennessee and was run on the street and did maybe some lite track time. Then sold and the next owner decided to make it a real race car. Since the car had a pretty good paint job and the body panel kit it made some sense to just take it off the street and do the full track deal. The motor and transmission got pulled along with all the wiring and then that person went "DAMN" what am I doing. If you never built a car before or worked on one before you may have just chewed off more than you can swallow. A whole bunch! This car has a lot of potential. You could make it a full blown race car and it is a good starter car or drop in a LS3 Chevy motor and a 6 speed and put it back on the street. Who ever did the body kit and the paint did and really good job. The cars body is really nice, good looking and the interior is also all very good. Yes there are a couple of places that need attention, but no hill for a climber, but not much. It really is a nice car if you want a project that will make a very good start. I ran a carfax and all is good. Speedo is the only problem since it last shown as true miles unknown. Car has not been registered since 2003 and that last buyer just titled the car and must have told them it was or was going to be a race car. Car will be sold on a bill of sale. I do have proof of purchase and can sell and it can be redone in California with a bit of work. Again, no hill for a climber! Give me a holler and a phone number I can get a hold of you if interested. Come take a look and we can talk if you are local and we do really want to sell local.. If nothing else we can talk about cars. I have built a lot of them including a lot of trucks. Check out the pictures. Car looks in person as good as the pictures are. If I wasn't so busy I will build this car in a heart beat. It would make a great street sleeper pro touring car.
After you look and we talk and you are welcome to make an offer on the listing. Please do not ask me up front in an email what I will sell for or what is the lowest you will take and so on. Till you see it there is no need to make offers or ask how much. If you are really interested in it you will come and look or send someone to look for you if out of the area. All offers can be made right on the listing if you just want to buy it now. I will consider most offer that are fair and not ridiculous. All low ball offers will just be automatically declined. Otherwise do not waste your time. . If you are a real car guy you will understand.

BMW takes 30th Anniversary Edition M5 out to drift
Thu, 04 Sep 2014If you only look at the videos from BMW, it appears that the best way to celebrate the 30th birthday of the M5 is some smoky drifting, and it sure looks like a great way to mark the occasion to us. Now that the Bavarian brand's new 30th anniversary special edition is all set to hit the road, the most powerful M5 ever is getting it own chance to roast its tires on video, as well.
The M5 30th Anniversary Edition shouldn't have any problem hanging its rear end out, really. Under the hood, its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 is turned up to 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and can allegedly sprint to 60 miles per hour in a scant 3.7 seconds. That's pretty impressive for any sports car but especially for a sedan that can still carry four passengers comfortably cosseted in leather and Alcantara upholstery.
BMW is making just 300 of these celebratory models worldwide, and appropriately for the anniversary, only 30 of them are going to be available in the US. If the special M5 doesn't make your heart race, the video basks in a little nostalgia, as well, by showing off the original model for some historical context.
Next BMW X6 to be larger, more aggressive
Tue, 16 Apr 2013If the current BMW X6, introduced in 2008, is looking a bit too bland for your tastes, have no fear as the next-generation model is reportedly going to be larger and more aggressive than its predecessor.
Autocar is reporting that an insider has revealed the all-new second-generation X6 will make its world debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, going on sale just after summer. More aggressive styling will help BMW distinguish its sportier X6 from BMW's more practical models, such as the X3 and X5, said the source.
The next X6 will again share platforms with the X5, but it will be stretched slightly to provide second-row passengers with more legroom. Powerplants will also likely mirror those of its mainstream cousin, including a range of turbocharged six- and eight-cylinder engines and a range-topping M model (the 2013 BMW X6 M is show above).
BMW Concept X5 eDrive plug-in hybrid headed to Frankfurt
Thu, 22 Aug 2013With six confirmed public debuts scheduled for the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW is definitely going to have its hands full. While we've already driven models like the 4 Series and the i3, one of the more interesting introductions is a "concept" plug-in hybrid version of the new F15 BMW X5 called the BMW Concept X5 eDrive.
As the second concept to wear the eDrive name, this X5 combines a 95-horsepower electric motor with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine to balance performance and efficiency. On the green side of things, BMW says that the eDrive system allows the X5 to reach speeds of 75 miles per hour and a range of 19 miles (although we're guessing not at the same time) under electric power only, to go with fuel consumption of about 62 miles per gallon US (3.8 liters per 100 kilometers). For performance, this plug-in can still accelerate from 0-60 in under seven seconds, and drivers can select from three PHEV modes: one that operates the system automatically, an all-electric mode and a Save Battery mode to preserve the battery's current state of charge.
Aside from the obvious plug port on the left front fender, the X5 eDrive is differentiated from the 2014 X5 with slightly restyled front and rear fascias, subtle blue accents tying in with the BMW i line and lightweight, aero-tuned 21-inch alloy wheels. There is no definitive word on whether the Concept X5 eDrive will make it to production, but judging by BMW's recent commitment to plug-in vehicles, we wouldn't be surprised to see an X5 PHEV on the roads within the next couple of years. We'll see the Concept X5 in just a few weeks in Frankfurt, but until then, scroll down for the official press release.
