2006 BMW 325xi Wagon - Rare Manual 6 Speed

I am selling my 2006 325xi Wagon that's a rare manual 6 speed.  This BMW has the N54 motor and is the E91 body style.   I have owned many BMW's in my lifetime and this is the little wagon that CAN! I am the second owner of this BMW 325xi Wagon.

This all wheel drive BMW has 249, 757 Km's on it ( 151K miles ) and has never been in an accident to my knowledge. The car was sold to me by the local dealer and I was provided with a Carproof report that showed no accidents. The BMW has been well maintained and has been mostly highway driven. The car gets around 21 MPG on the highway and I do fill up with Super Gasonline.  The BMW has leatherette black seats, silver trim package, heated seats, heated mirrors, automatic rain sensor wipers, 2 cup holders, aux input in centre console, two key fobs that come with this car, plus more bells and whistles I'm sure I've not mentioned. The car has been well cared for and maintained by a local BMW mechanic who's well know in the BMW Club and the BMW forums. I bought this car when I found out that I was having twins; however, now the car has gotten too small for us as the family's growing... again. :)

What's been done to the car since I've owned it in the last year and a half:

1. Full Tune Up
2. 3000 Mile Syntetic Oil Changes - with molly slip engine additive
3. New O2 Sensors
4. New Winter Tires
5. New Front Wiper Blades
6. New passenger mirror glass

What will need to be done in the future and not in urgent need of doing;

1. Front brake pads
2. Key Fob - works intermittently ( new diversity board $295 )
3. Rear Left Shock

This is a used car and I will describe the blemishes to the best of my abilities; passenger head lamp as small line crack in it, passenger rear lower plastic trim has scratch on it - was quoted $45 to buff it out - , driver's side above the rear tail light dent/scratch, driver's side seat has cut in the leather - common BMW problem - , shift knob has a nick in the top, driver's mirror has some small milky fading - common issue -, there are some stone chips/pits from highway driving on hood.  - See pictures.

The car drives as any well tuned German machine should and is all-wheel drive with traction control. This car is excellent on the highway and is a great car to cruise with.  Has lots of leg room and storage space, especially with the rear folding seats. I have driven this car across the southern US from Canada and have never had any issues with the BMW.  The car has been parked this week as we have purchased an SUV for the growing family.  The BMW is currently registered in Ontario, Canada and should be importable in to the USA, since most North American BMW's meet the safety standards and regulations.  This BMW should be able to be imported in to the USA, however, it's up to the buyer to verify.  Here are some links - .cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/importing-car / ezbordercrossing.com/the-inspection-experience/import-a-vehicle/importing-vehicle-from-canada/#.U_6RS_ldXkU.

The BMW is sitting on it's OEM original wheels and I do have a set of BBM LM Reps on 5 month old low profile tires, which I am including in this auction.  I do have the car for sale locally, so I do reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.

The car comes as is, where is with no warranty.  * Baby Seats and Car Seat Adapters not included in the sale - only the BMW is for sale here*

**** Forgot to clarify, the front facing picture of the BMW is not all stone chips, it's mostly dead bugs! Calipers were professionally painted red by the rim and tire shop ****

BMW M3 and M4 will rock 430 hp from twin-turbo six with standard manual [w/video]

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

We're not sure which spec we're most intrigued by for the new BMW M3 and M4: the twin-turbo six-cylinder with 430 horsepower and "far beyond" 369 pound-feet of torque, the 3,300-pound curb weight or the standard six-speed manual transmission with automatic throttle blipping on downshifts. That engine is fitted with both Valvetronic and Double-Vanos, twin-wire arc-spray coating in the cylinders instead of liners to save weight, a track-ready cooling system with additional radiators, a forged crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication and a magnesium oil sump. BMW says its "high revving concept" has a redline beyond 7,500 rpm.
In the M4, it will be pulling a coupe with "a weight of just under 1,500 kilograms," which is 3,300 pounds to you and me. That number is said to include no driver and 90 percent fuel, but we're still waiting on the exact number and specs. BMW says it's "around 80 kilograms lighter than a comparably equipped predecessor model," putting the power-to-weight ratio at something like 7.68 pounds per horsepower at the same time as it helps reduce fuel consumption by 25 percent. The use of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) for the roof, drive shaft (with no center bearing), trunk and front strut brace, and forged aluminum for suspension components, have aided in the weight loss. This time around, the sedan - the M3 - will also get a CFRP roof.
The default option will be a six-speed manual.

Gus Van Sant casts the BMW i8 in soft light

Sun, 18 May 2014

BMW has spent the better part of a century building its reputation with fossil-burning transportation, but now it's banking heavily on the success of its new i family of electric vehicles. In order to succeed, it will need to sell examples of the i3, but sell the idea with the i8. And in order to do so, it is going to need some out-of-the-box promotional thinking. And that's just what it seems to have done with this latest campaign of television commercials.
The series of three (or at least that's how many have been released thus far) ads wax more poetic than most of the car ads we've seen. But while they might skimp on the technical details, they don't skip over the talent. The videos are the work of Oscar-nominated director Gus Van Sant, the cinematic artist best known for films like Good Will Hunting, Milk and Finding Forrester.
Van Sant has also solicited the voices of Sam Hazeldine (Caleb from Resurrection), Sting's daughter Mickey Sumner (Sophie from Frances Ha) and Michael Pitt (Jimmy from Boardwalk Empire), but doesn't hide them behind the microphone in the recording studio. Instead they serve as the face of Bavaria's new hybrid sports car, and the results are rather stunning. See for yourself in the trio of videos below.

She's just a girl... who's an E28 fanatic

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

Ashley Rodriguez has a thing for the BMW E28. The amateur train photographer has owned over 15 of the cars in her brief lifetime, and says she's attracted to the old 5 Series because of how rare they are. All told, she's owned every variation of the E28 with the exception of the 2.4td, and the crew from Petrolicious recently stopped by to train their lenses on her most recent acquisition: a lovely M535i. The site's latest video, Rare Things, takes a closer look at just what draws Rodriguez to the E28 and how her passion for the cars has evolved over the years.
As usual, Petrolicious serves up plenty of gorgeous footage of the vintage German sedan, and anyone who's ever harbored an obsession over any one particular model can certainly hear a few chords ring true in Rodriguez's words. Check out the clip below to see what we mean.
