Only flaws are minor cosmetic ones including: tear in netting on rear side of passenger seat ($30 part), barely visible chip in upper windshield that has been patched, scuff on rear passenger wheel that could easily be reconditioned. Meticulously maintained at local BMW specialist. Maintenance records included and detail on recent wear and tear parts (brakes, tires, belts, etc.) in description. Clear title in hand."

Beautiful, meticulously maintained Alpine White BMW 330i with Premium Package including heated leather seats, sunroof, and 18" alloy wheels for sale. This model was a home run - it is one of the last with the classic BMW look, the riding on rails suspension feel, the tight mechanical steering, and a wonderfully buttery 5 speed manual transmission. The smooth 3.0 liter in-line 6 engine goes from 0-60mph in 6 seconds with the quiet assurance of a true luxury car.

This BMW looks new inside and out (including the engine block), and gets complements every time someone new gets in. This car has been garaged, has never been smoked in, has never carried pets, and the 120K miles have mostly been highway miles around the southeast. I am the second owner - the first was an older woman who drove it less than 10K miles per year and maintained it at the dealer I purchased the car from several years ago. The Harmon Kardon sound system is clear and powerful, and the automatic climate control works perfectly in both summer heat and winter cold (helped along by dual heated front leather seats).  The wheels are 18" premium alloys that are a beautiful complement to the like-new Alpine White paint.

No mechanical issues - this car is running beautifully.  Only cosmetic flaws are minor ones including: tear in netting on rear side of passenger seat ($30 part), barely visible chip in upper windshield that has been patched, scuff on rear passenger wheel that could easily be reconditioned. Meticulously maintained at local BMW specialist - maintenance records included. The major maintenance projects have mainly been preventative due to aging of consumable parts and include:
  • Valve cover gasket and oil filter gasket replacement
  • New rear brakes
  • Water pump replacement
  • New belts and hoses
  • New battery
  • Window regulator replacement
  • New Michelin Exalto tires
The car also has a new rear bumper as it was bumped while parked in 2012. It actually looks better than it did before the old one got dented, and there was no frame or mechanical damage. Service records for this repair are also included to confirm.

Two keys and a clear title are in hand. I would prefer to sell locally so you can look at the car and make sure you are happy with it but am willing to ship. Only reason I am selling is that we have a second child on the way and need something with more storage space. Hopefully this goes to someone who will enjoy it as much as my wife and I have.

Paypal deposit of $500 will be required with full payment due within 10 days after auction closes. If purchased with Buy It Now, car can be picked up before the end of this week. Otherwise, pickup will have to wait until Saturday, September 7th.

 Good luck!

BMW reveals full details on M235i Racing

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

We were suitably excited when BMW first announced the imminent arrival of the M235i Racing. After all, what's not to like about a factory-prepared racecar with 333 horsepower you can pick up for just eighty grand? Now BMW has released the full details on the latest addition to its racing portfolio, where it joins the M3 DTM, M3 GT4, Z4 GTE/GT3 and 320 TC in a growing family of competition machinery prepared by BMW Motorsport.
Based on the new 2 Series coupe, the M235i Racing is the first M Performance model for the track, and boasts the line's most powerful engine: the 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight six has been optimized to 333 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. A mechanical limited-slip differential helps transfer the power to the track surface, along with race-tuned ABS, DSC and traction control.
Four-pot calipers up front and two-pot calipers in the rear shave off speed for the corner and are packed inside the 18-inch alloys, with KW dampers and H&R suspension components. Inside there's a six-point racing harness and Recaro bucket surrounded by an FIA-certified roll cage, and customers can even have an extra seat installed to take passengers for ride-alongs. All of which can be yours for €59,500.00 - equivalent to $82k at today's rates, before taxes.

BMW M2, we're happy to see you

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

I recently spent some time behind the wheel of the BMW M235i and, well, I didn't love it. Sure, it's a great car, but I just didn't truly bond with it the way I have with previous M cars. What I had hoped for was a proper successor to the 1 Series M Coupe I fell in love with in 2011, but what I got instead was just a sporty 2 Series that didn't exactly stir my emotions in the same way.
But now there's this: the honest-to-goodness BMW M2. Previously, spy photographers captured a development-mule M2, but this is the real thing, in its full prototype body. Notice the aggressive front fascia that mimics the M3/M4, the more more robust wheel/tire package, and the M-standard quad exhaust outlets around back. This thing sure does look the business.
Details are slim as of this writing, but rumors suggest power will come from BMW's now-ubiquitous N55 turbocharged 3.0-liter six, with output somewhere in the 360- to 380-horspower range. The seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission seems like a good fit here, too. As does a six-speed manual transmission (here's hoping).

Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
