History
I've owned this car since Nov 2012 and I've loved every single bit of it. I am the first retail owner, while the car was a BMW Performance Center car in the past. At the time of the sale, BMW disclosed $4700 in repairs to bring the car back to retail specifications as well as all the recalls and repairs done to the car. I have attached a copy of all these documents. Since I've had the car, I took it to a local BMW dealer, where they changed the oil (free under BMW's plan), replaced right sided sway bar (it was making a noise) and replaced the rear window shade motor (was inoperable). The car has bumper to bumper , powertrain and free maintenance until 6/17/2014. The car has a clean carfax and Autocheck vehicle report.
In summary this has been a dream car - I have never experienced a car faster, yet smoother and quieter than this beast. So why sell it? Trust me I don't want to, but we just found out that we are expecting twins :) -- and with one Dog and 2 kids , we will need more room! I am in the process to purchase a BMW X5 35d, and sadly will need to say goodby to this gem.

2015 BMW M3 and M4 configurator launched, no lunch hour safe
Thu, 03 Apr 2014BMW has just made your lunch break a little more interesting by launching the configurators for the M3 and M4. Pricing and options for the new sports coupe and sedan was revealed just a few days ago, but it's always more fun to see the visual effect your personalizations have on the bottom line.
The M3 and M4 start at $62,000 and $64,200, respectively, without a $925 destination charge. However, as soon as the configurator is opened, both models default with metallic paint ($550) and the M Double-clutch Transmission ($2900), plus extended leather on the M3 ($950) and full leather on the M4 ($3,500). This is basically the way they were shown when displayed at auto shows. Of course, there's nothing preventing users from setting up these performance machines however they like.
So sit down at your desk with a cup of coffee or a sandwich and create your perfect German sport sedan or coupe. It's always fun to see how much money can be spent on a dream car.
BMW X4 order guide sneaks onto the web
Thu, 03 Apr 2014Much like we gave you an early look at the ordering guide for the BMW M3 and M4 (you can now configure those two, as well), yet another list of BMW options has leaked out. This time, the upcoming X4 is the target. We told you last month that prices for the X3-sized, X6-shaped vehicle started at $45,625, and now, we can confirm everything else for the newest Bimmer.
Only two trim lines will be available when the X4 arrives - M Sport and xLine. The former starts at $2,300 for the xDrive28i model and $1,900 for the xDrive35i, and includes as standard, 19-inch wheels (or optional 20s for $950), sport seats, an M steering wheel, a more aggressive body kit, a black headliner and the option of brushed aluminum interior trim. The xLine is $1,500 for the 28i and $1,000 for the 35i, and is made up exclusively of 19-inch Y-spoke wheels and dark copper interior trim.
Metallic colors dominate the pallet, with just a pair of gloss options available alongside the $550 metal-flake colors. BMW offers a pair of SensaTec leatherette options, along side a wide variety of $1,450 leather trims.
BMW readying competition pack for M5, M6
Thu, 25 Apr 2013According to Car and Driver, citing a report in BMW Blog, BMW will be offering performance upgrades - likely called the Competition package - for its M5 and M6 models (including the convertible and Gran Coupe versions of the M6). Both cars will continue to be offered with the normal 560-horsepower, 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engines, but this new performance pack is expected to add an additional 15 hp to the mix.
No need to worry, however - the upgrades won't simply be limited to a small boost in power. These M5 and M6 models will reportedly get new wheels, black exhaust tips, a more direct steering ratio and reworked suspension geometry which will provide better overall handling. Top speed is said to remain governed at 190 miles per hour, but that these extra improvements will shave one-tenth of a second off the cars' 0-60 times.
No pricing information has been revealed as of this writing, though we imagine it'll likely come at a substantial cost over the current starting prices of the M5 and M6 ($90,200 and $108,350, respectively).
