The car was not wrecked, it was stolen and parts were taken, Police found it, brought it back, insurance totalled it out and i said i wanted the car back because i put $15000 dollars in dinan parts in it and they did not count those, they only count the bluebook $11,000-$14000. I have the reserve price at a fraction of the bluebook price. It has stage 3 dinan package plus software upgrade. I have a small reserve a fraction of what its worth. if it gets met the car is yours. It has brand new front drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic brakes and calipers. The tires are matching Bridgestone potenzas with 95% tread life left. This car purs down the highway with no vibrations. It puts you back in the seat. The a/c works very good. The Battery is an interstate and its new. The body paint shines, it is free of dents. It has a little surface bubbling on the right rear well, its small. the underneath is really clean and it leaks no fluids. All fluids have been changed also. It has a double pin stripe down both sides of it. The engine is quiet, the transmission is smooth, the brakes are smooth, the pads in the rear are new also, This car sounds great with the exhust from dinan. I've changed the oil always with the formulated synthetic euro. Its been dealer maintained and has alot of new parts. its ready to drive anywhere you can take a car to. BMW working on 2 Series Active Hybrid Tourer
Wed, 14 May 2014The cover may have officially been pulled off the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer at the Geneva Motor Show, but BMW has apparently continued working on other variants behind closed doors. While at first glance this prototype looks like any other Active Tourer, the "Hybrid Test Vehicle" stickers on the passenger door and rear bumper give it away as something a little different.
Details about the hybrid Active Tourer are somewhat sketchy at the moment, but BMW indicated its likely direction for the electrified hatchback in the earlier Concept Active Tourer. It used a hybridized 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine coupled with an electric motor with a total system output of 190 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque. The company claimed that it had a roughly 19-mile electric range and could hit 62 miles per hour in under 8 seconds. However, the Bavarian automaker hasn't said yet whether this powertrain would be used in the production version.
The internal combustion 2 Series Active Tourer is rumored to come to the US in 2015. Given the nearly complete look of the test car, the hybrid might not be too far behind.
2015 BMW X6
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Most everyone would agree that BMW offers a range of very attractive and well-proportioned coupes, sedans, crossovers and wagons. Yet there is one member of its family that has always struck us as a bit odd: the X6.
Proudly coined "The world's first Sports Activity Coupe" by its German maker, the X6 features a wedge-shaped body with a characteristic sloping roofline that appears to squash the heads of its second-row occupants. The crossover rides high off the ground, with a pronounced gap between its chassis and oversized wheel/tire package, capped by short overhangs on both ends. Although curious to the eyes, its overall styling is masculine, and its stance aggressive.
Whether you consider the X6 to be attractive or an eyesore - opinions seem about equally divided - there is nobody at BMW questioning its business model. As of today, the automaker has sold more than 260,000 copies of its five-door crossover, which is why it has flown us to Spartanburg, SC, to sample its second-generation 2015 BMW X6.
BMW i8's three-cylinder sounds like it's shaping up quite nicely
Tue, 25 Mar 2014We've run across some rather interesting news... or perhaps we should say interesting sounds. The folks from Bimmerpost have scrounged up a short video showing a preproduction BMW i8 running through a few gears in Sport mode at a quick pace, and if you were concerned that the somewhat eco-friendly nature of the upcoming German sports car would neuter its ability to stir the aural senses, fret not.
Judging by the lovely noise coming from the engine compartment of the i8 in the video, BMW's expertise in tuning high-strung, small-bore engines - remember, BMW Motorrad has quite the penchant for well-conceived motorcycle engines - has come through loud and clear. Now, it's worth mentioning that BMW's controversial Active Sound technology will be included with the i8, so the production car may not sound exactly like this version, which is running with the tech disabled. Owners won't have the ability to disable Active Sound on production i8s.
In related news, Bimmerpost reports that BMW will equip the i8 with an external Active Sound Design system to go along with its Pedestrian Protection System. That means those on the outside will likely hear piped engine recordings from the rear and a sort of "howl" from the front in order to warn pedestrians that the otherwise quiet (when running on electricity, that is) car is approaching. It will also feature technology that can stop the car before contacting a pedestrian.
