 Title in Hand

I am selling my 2003 BMW 330i (sports/business package). I purchased it from an elderly gentleman who simply had no need for it, with 70xxx miles several years back. It has ONLY 118xxx miles on it now, and has been loved greatly. I am selling to downgrade for a cheaper car that will get better gas mileage. This car has plenty of life left in it (we all know what great quality BMW cars are), and I LOVE this car and hate to see it go, but tightening funds are forcing me to let her find another loving home.
WOOD GRAIN interior
Grey (not the cheap silver) exterior, and black leather interior.
ALWAYS regularly serviced (oil changed, worn belts replaced, tires rotated, ect.)
Interior leather is nearly FLAWLESS
Electric, fully adjustable driver and passenger seats.
A/C and Heating work wonderfully.
Drives, shifts, and cranks up smooth.
Sunroof works perfectly (and is great in the springtime)
BMW M3 wheels
NO glass cracks
Very minimal light scratching or paint imperfections anywhere
ZERO rust or heavy scratches anywhere
XENON HID headlights

BOTTOM LINE: I hate to give her away, but I am forced to let this beautiful BMW 3 series go to help pay for schooling. I am asking 8,099 OR BEST OFFER. CASH ONLY. I will strive to be as open and honest as possible to provide buyer with the easiest experience, so please feel free to contact me for more detailed pics of the car, and I will be more than happy to answer any questions. Call or text (478) 290 5959.

*slight imperfections:
minor damage in passenger side faring (see pic)
passenger side windows do not go up or down
minor "curb-rash" on wheels
indicator says one of the rear passenger side taillight bulbs is out
small scratchs on front bumper
brakelight indicator has recently come on, which simply means brake inspection is needed (but brakes work fine)
several, very shallow dents on hood/roof (unnoticeable from more than 5 feet away)
missing passenger side foglight ring (see pic)

Researchers halfway to cutting carbon fiber costs by 90%

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Carbon fiber has been utilized for decades to build racecars, as a means to cut weight while maintaining strength. But until recently, the space-age material has been largely absent from the street on anything but supercars because of the expense to use it. Recently, BMW signaled a major shift in that trend when it starting using carbon fiber reinforced plastic panels on the i3 and i8. This relatively small scale start might be just the beginning; the German company believes that a breakthrough to inexpensively manufacture the lightweight stuff is just on the horizon.
MAI Carbon Cluster Management GmbH counts BMW, Audi, Airbus, the German government and many other organizations as supporters, and it's researching how to make carbon fiber cheaper to produce, according to Automotive News Europe. The company thinks it can reduce costs by 90 percent in the near future. "We've certainly reached a halfway point on our cost-cutting target for suitable carbon-fiber parts," said project head Klaus Drechsler to Automotive News Europe.
Unfortunately, it isn't entirely clear just what MAI Carbon is doing to make such a huge leap possible. However, a recent post on the company's website talks about a new form a carbon fiber using a thermoplastic matrix that could be cured in less than three minutes. That's compared to about 90 minutes in the traditional process with an autoclave.

Hamann M6 Gran Coupe is all flared and shiny

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

Oh, Hamann. After rolling out the ridiculously pink Mystère at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the tuning company has worked its mirror-finishing magic on the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, debuting this, the aptly named "Mirror" at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It sure is shiny, and a full 40 millimeters wider than the standard M6 GC.
Hamann says that the, um, "tailor-made suit" exterior treatment is made up of a new front bumper spoiler with large air intakes, side skirts, a new rear spoiler, and wing extensions out back. And the end result is... well, let's just call it noticeable. The special BMW rides on unique 21-inch wheels and sits a full 25 millimeters closer to the ground, as well.
As far as we can tell, Hamann hasn't upgraded the M6's 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 at all, though there's a new sport exhaust system that "depending on the application area, either noisily announce its presence or purr sportily." Sounds like it's as loud as its newfound appearance.

BMW and Samsung team up with Galaxy Gear smartwatch that talks to your i3

Sun, 12 Jan 2014

Without a doubt, the most impressive thing that BMW showed at CES this year was a driverless M235i drifting flawlessly around a wet track at Las Vegas Speedway. However, that bit of robotic helmsmanship wasn't the only trick the German company had up its sleeve. Or, more to the point, on its wrist.
Taking a page from rival Mercedes-Benz, BMW demonstrated how a "smartwatch," in this case the Samsung Galaxy Gear, could be made to function usefully with a vehicle, in this case the BMW i3. Calling it a "research application," BMW showed off its BMW i Remote App on the Galaxy Gear; the app gives information about state of battery charge, available range and whether or not all the doors and windows are closed or open. Perhaps more useful still, the watch can be used to send a destination to the i3's navigation unit, adjust the climate control in preparation for a trip and can recognize voice commands. Nifty stuff, if not world-shaking, that could help tech-obsessed luxury buyers take a second look at the upcoming BMW EV.
Take a closer look at the watch in action below, or read thru the BMW press release.
