Hi, i have a 1998 BMW 323ic and I've owned the car for the past 5 years. It has 144,000 miles. The cars been garaged since I've owned it but just recently got into an accident. The car needs a front fender, passenger side door, needs quarter panel on passenger side but might be able to have the quarter panel pulled out. The passenger side door does not open because the handle was crushed and i did not try to open it. They did pull out some fuses but my radio did work when I went in as well as the driver window fuse was disconnected.  The drivers airbag, passenger airbag and passenger side airbag need to be replaced, also needs front fog lights. When i start the car, no airbag light comes on which may mean the system is ok. It also needs a front windshield and tierod end. The main reason i am selling this car and not fixing it is because New York State requires new dealer airbags. I've found most of the replacement parts on ebay pretty cheap. The car runs great and transmission is smooth. I have invested over 4000 dollars in this car. Some parts are new dealer rotors. New brakes, new tires, new battery less than a month ago purchased. New convertible top motors were replaced and functions good. There is a new back top window from the dealer which i purchased for 500 dollars. It has a couple of upgrades such as headers, custom intake, and exhaust. It has new struts and shocks in all 4 corners as well as bushings. & it has many other new parts as well. The title from the insurance company is listed as clean title because of its age but the car has a sticker that says salvage. Overall, its a great car that I put tons of money and time into. I waxed it all the time and it still shines great. It also has the winter package which includes the heated seats and the heated mirrors.Shipping will have to be arranged by you or a company. Thanks! (The advertised price excludes additional charges such as sales tax, registration fees, documentation fees, made at the close of sale.) Sales tax is the responsibility of buyer! Car is sold AS IS!

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe blows the doors back on [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

BMW sure seems to take pleasure in confusing the hell out of us. It used to be pretty simple: if you wanted a compact Bimmer, you had to look no further than the 3 Series. Then it was just a matter of which bodystyle you wanted. But the smaller end of BMW's lineup has gotten more complicated lately. Never mind the 1 Series and 2 Series (in their various iterations) that have slotted in below it - now the 3 Series has been split in two: Want a four-door, get the new 3 Series. Want a two-door, the 4 Series is your address. Right?
Almost. Because now there's a 4 Series Gran Coupe that keeps the two-door's roofline (or some approximation of it) but adds an extra set of doors in the back, thereby bridging the gap between the 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe. And it's just made its public debut here at the Geneva Motor Show.
The difference between this and the two-door 4 Series is plain to see: it's got two extra doors. But what's the difference between this and the 3 Series sedan? About two or three grand, to start with - depending on which version (428i Gran Coupe or 435i Gran Coupe) you choose. But it's also sleeker, more muscular and altogether that extra bit sexier. Which is a good trait, as you can see from our gallery of live shots above, to have in your European sports sedan, coupe, or whatever you want to call it.

EVO takes flight in BMW's sultry i8

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Electric cars and hybrids are here to stay, much to the apparent dismay of some auto enthusiasts, but that doesn't mean they have to represent the death of enjoyable driving. Granted, the initial run of hybrids in the US like the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius weren't exactly tailor-made for aggressive folks behind the wheel, but things are clearly changing. In its latest video, Evo takes a look at three examples from Europe's new crop of electrified vehicles to show that the future of fun motoring is safe and sound.
Evo editor Henry Catchpole kicks things off with one of the most bizarre EVs of the bunch, the tiny Renault Twizy. Its low power and 50-mile-per-hour top speed might make it miles away from a hot hatch, but there's still fun to be had in extracting the most from this little city car. Next up is the Audi A3 E-Tron, which isn't technically available yet. It's a step in the right direction of eventually creating an affordable, fun-to-drive hybrid hot hatch.
However, the main event is Catchpole getting some seat time in the BMW i8. The Bimmer can really fly -literally in this case - and the butterfly-door coupe offers a clear look at the prospects for electrified sports cars. It might not have the power of hybrid supercar contemporaries like the LaFerrari or Porsche 918 Spyder, but the BMW doesn't cost nearly as much, either. See? Improved efficiency doesn't have to mean boring.

BMW, Mini aim to sell million cars off new FWD platform

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Mini sold 301,526 cars in 2012; BMW sold 1.54 million of its own models. According to a piece in Autocar, analysts say the coming UKL1 platform that will form the skeleton of the third-generation Mini Cooper and coming front-wheel drive BMW 1 Series could be responsible for "more than 900,000 cars per year" all by itself.
That sale fire is fueled by the UKL1 wearing up to twenty-three bodies in total between the two brands, 11 for Mini and 12 for BMW, rendering hatchbacks, sedans, coupes, convertibles, wagons, crossovers and people-haulers from about 12.5 feet to 14.5 feet. In April the VP of Mini USA said we might find some current models don't make it to a next generation, but a graphic accompanying the Autocar story has them all there. If it's correct, then those 23 models will only base model lines and don't account for different engines and four-wheel-drive options for each model.
The big changes that would perhaps mean big sales for the Mini line are a five-door hatch with two smaller rear doors for children, the sedan talked about last year for Asian markets and an MPV perhaps wearing the "Traveler" name that could send the Countryman in a more SUV-like direction.
