This listing is for a 1987 BMW 325ic in very good condition. It has only 137,000 miles and has been kept in a garage since it was new. It has only seen rain or snow when driven. When driven, it is only parked among other cars when absolutely necessary. I am the second owner. I obtained this car at 42,000 miles in 1998 from my Aunt after my Uncle passed away; he was the original owner and purchaser. Because I love German automobiles and the car was originally my Uncle's car, I have given this car special care the entire time I have owned it, just as he did. It is regularly maintained. It runs very well and would run perfectly if I used it as a daily driver, however, it is my second car and tend to use it for medium to long trips. If you are reading this listing, you likely know how much absolute fun this car is to drive. It has a five speed manual transmission and the power band on this torquey six cylinder engine in 3rd and 4th gear is wide and fast. I installed the Bavarian Autosport computer chip, premium spark plug wires, and K&N filter when I obtained the car.

Most of the car is original. That includes the suspension which is a bit loose and needs attention especially if you live in a city. The silver coating on the wheels is in bad shape. The top goes up and down easily but could use some attention especially the rear plastic window that is hazy. I installed a CD player that has an AUX hookup for an iPhone/iPod, however, I believe I still have the original radio and if I do, it comes with the listing.
The only reason I am selling this car on ebay is that where I live there are very few BMW owners and even fewer classic BMWs around. People around me look at the car and do not appreciate it. It is only when I take her on trips that other BMW owners ask if she is for sale.
My car is sold "as is" with no warranties and no returns. I prefer that you come to take delivery but I will drive her to Norfolk, D.C., Baltimore, or Philly for you to take delivery after the funds clear my account.

BMW: i8 sold out, i3 records 10k orders

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Just in case anyone was wondering how plug-in BMW cars would be received, the answer is apparently "quite well." After speaking with BMW's global sales chief last week at the LA Auto Show, Reuters has learned that the plug-in hybrid i8 sports coupe is already sold out for its first year on the market.
There is no word as to how many i8s BMW sold, but the first example was delivered to a customer last week in Germany. As for the all-electric/range-extended i3 hatchback, the automaker has received more than 10,000 orders for this model before it even goes on sale. Likewise, we don't know how many BMW plans to sell, but we do know they'll be showing up in the US before next summer.
We've already spent some time behind the wheel of both plug-in BMWs, and you can check out our first drive of the production i3 and our first drive of an i8 prototype.

Are you the next BMW X5?

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Who knew that diecast model makers could be such a good source of leaks? Less than a month after a diecast model 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA in China, someone overseas at Diecast Empire or Jadi Modelcraft could get a bath in boiling oil for leaking uncamouflaged images of the next-generation BMW X5.
Naturally, that assumes that this image from a brochure from a Jadi brochure is indeed the F15 BMW X5 - it was posted to Diecast Empire's Facebook page. In its favor, the lines all add up if we compare it to the most revealing spy shots we have of the coming crossover - the headlight corners, the metal trim separating the kidney grille from the opening just above the license plate, the cut of the swage line, and the fact that the model picture reveals all of the most important character pieces that BMW has kept covered.
There's something written on the door of the model image that isn't in the spy shots, but that could be an xDrive badge. We will see the genuine article soon enough and we'll know for sure. For now, we might have already seen its facsimile in miniature.

BMW i8 official images leak ahead of Frankfurt [w/video]

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

The new BMW i8 plug-in electric supercar isn't set to make its official debut until September 10, when it will glide onto the Frankfurt Motor Show stage amidst a sea of flash photography. Of course, that isn't so true in today's world, where debuts are always preceded (often carefully) by "leaks."
Take this trio of images of the BMW i8 - there's just enough of the exterior on display in the profile shot to draw attention, without showing important styling points that might be present on the front or back of the car. The same goes for the video attached below. The cabin shot is cool, but isn't particularly earth-shattering when it comes to BMW interiors. As for the skeletal shot, we can see the 1.5-liter, turbocharged engine positioned between the rear axles, the battery pack found in what would be the transmission tunnel and the front-mounted electric motors.
We'll have a full set of live images when the BMW i8 makes its debut in Frankfurt next week. Until then, have a look in the gallery and at the video below, and let us know what you think of BMW's next big thing.
