 For sale is my 1984 bmw 325e. I've had a lot of fun with this car and have tuned it to be a daily driver capable of traveling to Yuma or Show Low. The straight six 2.7 lt engine with 5speed manual is a blast to drive and great on gas

I bought the car about 2 years ago and had to rebuild a lot of the systems to make it a reliable daily driver.

Including;
- fuses and electrical components. All electrical items function. Windows to lights to gauges.
- new alternator / battery
- rebuilt a/c system. New belts, recharged freon.
- new fuel pump and sending unit
- rebuilt the entire cooling system. Literally pulled every component out and put in new parts such as Radiator, water pump (gaskets as well), hoses, thermostat and thermostat housing... Everything
- rebuilt breaking system. New pads and rotors all around
- new tires last summer
- replaced lower control arm bushings
- fixed the on board computer
- replaced stereo, speakers, subwoofer. Basically, the sound system is top notch. The deck is able to sync right to the phone via blue tooth, no cables necessary!!

Previous owner had clutch rebuilt. The car shifts smoothly, the car has a lot of torque on the low end. This gives plenty of power without a lot of motor equaling 18mpg city.

Other features:
Car has power steering, windows, sunroof, power breaks, hydraulic clutch, heater and a/c...

The bad;
-The paint is original, it looks pretty good for its age but by no means show quality
-The interior has a few small rips, the previous owner tried to redo some of it and now it needs a professionals touch.
- there is one dent on the car, see photo. I bought the car with the dent and I think it's been there for several years.
- there is a small oil leak. I replaced the head gasket and valve cover gasket last weekend so not sure if that solved the problem. Nothing major for a car that age.

None of the negative effects the cars reliability
I can't stress this enough, this car was cared for as my primary mode of transportation.

This is one of the most simple and easy to work on cars out there. Lots of parts and information is readily available.  There is so much more to the car that I'm probably leaving out. So shoot me an email with any questions. I would recommend that the buyer is able to do basic maintenance, check fluids and oil and what not, the car is 30 years old and will continue to run strong if maintained.

3000 with some room for negotiations

BMW readying Spartanburg expansion for X7 production

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

Prior to the debut of the original X5 in 1999, the idea of a BMW crossover might have seemed like heresy. But here we are, fifteen years removed from the Frank Stephenson-penned design, and the Bavarian automaker has expanded its crossover lineup to include the X1, X3, X4 and X6, and it's showing no sign of slowing down.
We recently reported that BMW is planning on slotting an X2 in at the bottom of the range between the X1 and X3, but now it's being widely reported that it's got an even larger one to put in at the top of its utility line. That, of course, would be the X7, a long-rumored three-row model that would give BMW a large family hauler to challenge the Mercedes-Benz GL.
According to The Wall Street Journal, BMW is expanding its assembly plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to accommodate production of the X7 alongside the X3, X4 and X5 that it already builds there for local consumption.

BMW X4 reclaims dash of utility with Clemson student project [w/videos]

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

BMW seems willing to exploit every automotive niche it can find with creations like the four-door, 'crossover coupe' X4 and X6. Of course, these designs come with a compromise. That svelte fastback means that they just can't haul as much cargo as a more traditional, boxier hatchback. Fortunately, students at Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research might have a novel solution: the engineering graduate program has turned the crossover into a unique pickup.
Dubbed Deep Orange 4 concept, this functional prototype has an enclosed cargo area with a sliding glass panel that opens up to expose a pickup bed if more room is needed. Think of it as the GMC Envoy XUV of German crossovers. This isn't just an X4 with its roof hacked off, though. The students actually started with an X3 and grafted on this top later in addition to the two barn doors for access to the bed.
To make this project even more impressive, this pickup-crossover could conceivably be produced. The graduate students conducted an in-plant analysis of BMW's manufacturing abilities and went back to the university to create a plan for a low-volume vehicle that could actually be built. "The students working on this phase of the project did an excellent job of keeping costs down while finding optimal integration opportunities," said Rich Morris, vice president of assembly at BMW Manufacturing, in the university's release.

BMW tests M Lap Timer App with M4 Coupe at Brands Hatch

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

The 2015 BMW M4 looks to include all the necessary ingredients to offer dynamite driving experience. It's an M car after all. But in today's constantly connected world, the experience of hurtling a car around a track isn't always enough.
We want data, and while there are some solid telemetry apps available for smartphones (notably Harry's GPS LapTimer), manufacturers have been a bit slower to develop their own dedicated mobile telemetry trackers for their performance cars. With the new M4, though, BMW is taking the plunge, allowing drivers to track their lap progress through a new app, creatively called the M Lap Timer.
To show off the program, BMW has recruited touring car racer Andy Priaulx to perform a fast lap in an M4 at the UK's Brands Hatch circuit. The accompanying video doesn't do much to show off the app in action. Rather, it give us a stylized look at the metrics as Priaulx hustles BMW's hottest 4 Series coupe around the circuit.
