1974 Bmw 2002 Factory A/c, Factory Sunroof, Survivor, Daily Driver on 2040-cars
Saint Augustine, Florida, United States
This 1974 BMW 2002 Coupe is a great example of a survivor and daily driver.
Equipped with rare Factory Air Conditioning and Factory Sunroof. Leather Interior, 4 Speed Manual Transmission. Silver over medium blue leather. The Good and Bad Points: 1) The fact that the car is fully optioned and runs strong. You can buy this car and drive it home anywhere. 2) All parts are on the car, it is missing very little. Drivers side seat has one tear in center of the backrest 3) The paint is a low quality repaint from 7-10 years ago. 4) There is bad paint, along with rust here and there throughout the entire body. 5) Only rust through is a spot on the underbody pan twice the size of a pack of cigarettes below the drivers side seat This car is a nice driver as is, to make it a very nice looking driver, the paint and body should be stripped down, properly prepared, and a nice paint job. There are also items such as, chrome and stainless pieces do have slight bends and dings in them. The rims on the car are showing surface rust from the car sitting. Overall, a very solid car to drive, everything works, air conditioning blows ice cold, a great car for a project. It will make into a very nice 2002. The car is being offered on eBay seriously for sale we have not listed it to find out what it's worth. Good luck with your bidding it will be sold to the highest bidder at a fair price. Thank you for your interest. On Feb-03-14 at 12:05:51 PST, seller added the following information:Feel free to call or email anytime 904-629-1883. |

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer getting third row
Sat, 23 Aug 2014In what enthusiasts will likely see as a continued attempt to dilute the BMW brand, the German manufacturer is testing a three-row variant of its already controversial 2 Series Active Tourer. Our trusty spy photographers captured images of the new, front-drive MPV testing on the roads of Europe.
The easiest way to ID this more passenger friendly 2er is its slightly longer length, which will allow it to accommodate seven people in total. As our spies point out, this should make the 2AT an attractive proposition for European taxi companies. Yep, BMW built a car that will be praised by taxi drivers. On top of the extra seats, the rear overhang appears larger as well, which should mean extra cargo space.
This, of course, is not the first time we've captured images of a new 2AT variant undergoing testing. Back in May, we spotted a hybrid-powered variant out for a drive.
Updated BMW X6 spied running the 'Ring in Germany
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Following the debut of the X5 earlier this year, it shouldn't come as a shock that BMW is testing an updated X6 in its homeland. The Munich-based manufacturer trekked to the Nürburgring to test the lifted, four-door coupe it calls a Sports Activity Vehicle, while also giving us our first peak as to what the future holds for one of the weirder models in the brand's stable.
Mainly, we can safely expect the next X6 to get the same range of refinements made to its platform-mate, the X5, which debuted earlier this year. If we're lucky, that could mean an X6 sDrive35i, complete with rear-wheel drive with which to fling the big SAV about. Adding a rear-drive option could also broaden its admittedly limited appeal by lowering the cost of entry, which could serve the pricier X6 well. As a point of reference, the X5 sDrive35i is priced at $2,300 below an xDrive all-wheel-drive-equipped model.
The X6's top-flight xDrive50i model should get the same 45-horsepower bump as the X5 xDrive50i, thanks to refinements to its twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8, while the 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-pot should remain unchanged. We wouldn't hold our breath for an X6 diesel to arrive, although weirder stuff has happened. Like the X5, though, this should be a pretty slim refit that improves an already competent package to go along with an expected increase in price.
Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises.
