2013 Audi A3 TDI for sale! Super-low miles (just over 20K), excellent gas mileage (30 mpg city/42 mpg highway), built-in navigation, bluetooth, super-smooth automatic transmission (with manual mode and paddle shifters), spacious trunk/hatch, leather seats, and generally excellent condition.

Also, it comes with the Audi Care package, which means that the 25K, 35K, and 45K services are already pre-paid! And that's in addition to 2+ years/30K miles manufacturer's warranty remaining!

IMPORTANT: The vehicle history report states that the car has been involved in one previous incident. This information is correct: the previous owners were in a minor incident. In addition to having the car inspected before purchasing it (the mechanic told me that they wouldn't have known about the issue if they hadn't been alerted to it in advance), I obtained a copy of the police report from that incident (which I am happy to share), where the officer reported "very minimal damage" to the vehicle.

This is really a wonderful, elegant, and practical car that we will miss sorely... Unfortunately, we are relocating to an area where we will not need this additional vehicle, and so have to sell it.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or want additional pictures or details.

Audi leading rival BMW in worldwide luxury sales race

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

If you thought competition among the German luxury automakers was hot before, it looks like things are just getting started. For the first two months of the year, Audi has sold more cars than BMW worldwide by just 383 cars.
Audi claims to have sold 242,400 vehicles through February, up 9.3 percent from last year, compared to 242,017 units from BMW, up 8.9 percent, in the same period. While the advantage is tiny, its implications could be huge because Bimmer has been the leader in the premium car segment for the last nine consecutive years. Mercedes-Benz lags behind them somewhat at 229,630 vehicles through February. According to Bloomberg, at this time last year Audi had sold 429 fewer cars than BMW.
The growth is all part of Volkswagen Group's goal to become the world's largest automaker. It currently ranks in second when its heavy truck businesses are considered. The German automotive giant also wants to be the world's leading premium carmaker. "Competition in the premium segment is more intense than ever," said Audi CEO Rupert Stadler to Bloomberg.

Audi A6 gets styling, powertrain tweaks

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

The Audi A6 is already a fairly handsome, German luxury sedan, but the whole range is receiving some styling updates in Europe this fall. Audi's US arm would not directly confirm which of these updates will be coming to America, instead just telling us that an updated A6 will be coming next year.
On the outside, the tweaks are fairly minor. The company's single-frame grille, which shows up throughout the model lineup, gets some very subtle styling changes, and the lower bumper and its air intakes are also reshaped. More obviously, the headlights have a new form with the LED running lights cutting through them in roughly the shape of a T, as opposed to outlining them, as before. A similar shape is also used for the updated taillights, and there are now rectangular exhaust outlets around back, as well. In profile, the side sills also get a harder crease toward the rear of the sedan.
Inside, things are kept generally the same, as well. There's a new Flint Gray interior color for the A6 and Salsa Red for the S6. But the biggest change is a power-retracting eight-inch infotainment system using the Nvidia Tegra 30 graphics chip. The optional night vision assist system is also improved with new functions, according to Audi.

Audi design chief Egger leaving for Italdesign Giugiaro

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

Wolfgang Egger, Audi's chief designer, is leaving the company according to a Automotive News Europe, which cites a report from Germany's Automobilwoche. Egger won't be going far, though, remaining within the Volkswagen family and taking up head design position Italdesign Giugiaro, a VW subsidiary as of 2010.
Egger took over the position at Audi from Walter de Silva, and has been responsible most recently for the Audi A6 and A3, as well as the 2010 Quattro Concept and the E-Tron Concept. He previously was head of design at Lancia and then at Alfa Romeo, where he was responsible for the achingly gorgeous 8C Competizione.
If Egger does move to Italdesign, his successor is likely to be Marc Lichte, the Volkswagen designer behind the current Golf. Of course, these personnel changes haven't been officially confirmed, and Audi is thus far refusing to comment on either Egger or Lichte's possible career shifts. We'll stay with this one, so sit tight.
