Hey guys, im selling my 2005 Acura RSX TYPE S. The car was recently totaled due to bad weather, and a deer. The cars passenger side slammed into a guard rail. According to the insurance appraiser, and my own knowledge of the vehicle, the rear bumper, passenger side quarter panel, passenger side door, passenger side front panel, and front lip need to be repaired. In addition to this the right tail light needs to be replaced, and the right rear suspension and wheel/tire need to be replaced. I assumed an allignement and balance will be needed as well. The car took on enough damage to be declared totaled and that is why i am selling it as is. It will come with 4 Work Emotion Rims, and 4 snow tires. The car has a little over 103,000 miles on it, but runs great. Did an oil check every 3,000 miles using mobil 1 sully synthetic oil. Car does NOT burn any oil!!!! The transmission shifts smoothly, and V-tec still kicks hard. The car was used for daily transportation to and from work, i bought the car back in 2010, with 48K in it, i am responsible for the rest. I hate to let it go, but due to a slightly retarded deer, and inclement weather, she's of no more use to me. . . .The car can be repaired, if not taken for parts, etc. It on you to do what you want with it. FEel free to contact me with any further questions, soccerplayeral@Optonline.net. |

Honda S2000, Acura RSX recalled over brake boosters
Fri, 14 Jun 2013Honda has announced a recall that affects two of our favorite, dearly departed cars from the brand's portfolio: the S2000 roadster and Acura RSX coupe. A total of 5,239 S2000 models from the 2006 and 2007 model years are affected by this problem, as are 13,113 2006 Acura RSX models.
"A production error may have allowed brake booster components to be produced outside of the original specifications, potentially causing decreased brake assistance over time, which could increase the risk of a crash," American Honda said in a press release. Thus, dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake booster setups in these vehicles, free of charge.
No crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this brake problem. Honda says the problem was discovered during warranty claim analysis.

Twenty years ago, a comparison between an entry-level Buick and Acura would have matched a Skylark against an Integra.
Twenty years ago, a comparison between an entry-level Buick and its Acura equivalent would have matched a Skylark against an Integra. The unfair battle would have resulted in the compact American's defeat in nearly every measurable category, as the Japanese competitor was arguably at the height of its powers.
Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.
